RodiplaceFairfield, NSWFriends, after recent experiences I strongly urge you to compare your prices with local clinics. I can guarantee you will find cheaper. You are entitled to seek a second opinion on the treatment proposed.
Rodneyplace,I got veneer that fell off. It has happened before and it takes 5-10min to glue it back in. This case it took them exactly the same time, but they charged me more than $400. I thought it was a bit too much, but they said that those are their rates. It think the service was good, just way too expensive.
Rodneyplace,I had the $149 teeth whitening treatment which resulted in severe blistering to my lower lip. Product was accidentally spilt on my lip during the treatment. Notified management with photos and was told my skin was sensitive! They offered me another treatment for myself or a family member. No thanks!! A refund was what I requested (twice) and would have been happy to have resolved it this way. Unfortunately, this was refused. I rarely review services but felt I needed to share my horrendous experience with this clinic. I DO NOT recommend!!!!!
Rodneyplace,First of all, thank you for Anna – she is such a great person, and her explanations are amazing. Whenever you go there, just look for her. One additional thing: don’t even try to work with a man named Zaheer. He is disrespectful and has no idea how to speak to or treat a customer. What I can say is that Anna deserves 5 stars, but Zaheer doesn’t deserve to be in the office at all.
Rodneyplace,I was extremely disappointed with my experience. The communication was slow and often unclear, which made the entire process frustrating. I expected professional guidance and transparency, but instead I felt like I was constantly chasing updates and answers. The information provided was not always consistent, and I found the overall customer service lacking. For a company that promotes support and assistance throughout the qualification process, my experience fell well short of expectations. I would recommend that anyone considering this service do thorough research, ask detailed questions upfront, and carefully review all requirements before committing. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not use this service again.

She told me before coming to clean the unit that she will give more time to clean and will not rush. But they didn’t clean properly and did work in rush. She changed the price way more then she told me on the phone. I lost my bond because of poor cleaning. I will not recommend her for anyone.

The “bond back guarantee” was useless as it expires after 2 weeks, but because of the lacklustre job they provided it took more than 2 weeks to process our bond claim, which we were charged $900 for additional cleaning. Could not recommend this place to my worst enemy

Rodneyplace,The cleaners arrived later than scheduled and several areas of the property were not cleaned to the standard expected. Unfortunately, the overall service did not provide good value for money.
Rodneyplace,Booked a cleaning service expecting a thorough job, but several areas were missed and communication was difficult when I tried to raise my concerns. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not meet expectations.
Rodneyplace,Booked a week in advance, they showed up 3 hours late with no call. Then tried to slug me an extra $150 for "heavy items" that were already on the quote. Avoid.
Rodneyplace,Paid for storage for 3 months. When they delivered my stuff back, half the boxes were crushed and smelled like mould. They denied everything. Terrible.
Rodneyplace,They "forgot" my sofa on the truck overnight. Next day it had a big tear and a stain. They said "not our fault" and drove off. Useless.
Rodneyplace,Simon seemed nice on the phone but on the day his offsider swore at my dog, dropped a box of glasses, and then demanded a tip. Never again.
Rodneyplace,Dial a disaster. They double-booked, arrived 4 hours late, and the mover kept asking to borrow my phone charger. Left grease marks on my white lounge.
Rodneyplace,Stars? More like black holes. Lost the bolts to my bed frame, so I slept on the floor. When I called, they laughed and said "just buy new ones". Rude.
Rodneyplace,They broke the handle off my fridge, scratched my hardwood floors, then asked for a 5-star review to my face. I said no and they got aggressive. Awful.
Rodneyplace,Took all day to move a 1-bedroom apartment 5km. They forgot their trolley so dragged everything. My washing machine is now making a death rattle.
Rodneyplace,The app was fine, but the actual movers were hopeless. They lost my kettle, put a hole in the wall, and then asked for a tip. For what? For ruining my day?
Rodneyplace,These guys damaged my wall so badly I could see the plaster crack right through. The office never returned my calls. Just hopeless.
Rodneyplace,Wrong moves only. They wrapped my couch in a dirty old blanket that smelled like a pub ashtray. Now my whole lounge stinks. Overcharged by $180.
Rodneyplace,Two men, zero idea. They argued for 30 minutes about how to fit my fridge through the door, then dented it anyway. One of them was vaping inside my house.
Rodneyplace,The "man with a van" never showed. I waited 2 hours, called 4 times – no answer. Later he texted "sorry mate, got a better job". Unbelievably rude.
Rodneyplace,Hosted a nightmare. They scratched my brand new stainless steel fridge, broke a lamp, and sat in the truck on their phones while my boxes got rained on.
Rodneyplace,Gotham villains would do a better job. They showed up in a rusty van that smelled of cigarettes, and tried to leave my mattress on the nature strip. Clowns.
Rodneyplace,Rocket? More like a broken ute. They backed into my brick letterbox and drove off. My neighbour got the plate. Still waiting for a callback. Never ever.
Rodneyplace,The only red carpet was my rage. They threw my clothes into garbage bags, mixed clean with dirty, and lost my favourite boot. Completely useless.
Rodneyplace,They quoted me $1200 over the phone. When the tow truck arrived, they offered $400 because "the tyres are a bit flat". Same tyres I told them about. Total bait and switch.
Rodneyplace,Booked a pickup. They showed up 4 hours late, took my car, and then "lost" the paperwork. Took 3 weeks to get my payout. Had to chase them daily.
Rodneyplace,They took my car away and then claimed the engine was "blown" and offered half the agreed price. The car drove perfectly onto the truck. Absolute scam.
Rodneyplace,Don't know if this was discrimination or just the fact that the "traffic controller lollipop man" doesnt know how to do his job properly. Was doing a drop off yesterday (approximately 1pm) and this man "controlling the traffic" felt like he was directing more cars out of the Stocklands carpark than what was necessary. I was the only car driving towards the shops whereby all other cars were parking underground. That guy saw me waiting for ages, kept on staring at me and back at the cars exiting and still allowed at least ten cars to exit whilst I was the ONLY car in that lane. What annoyed me most is that there were cars who were leaving a massive gap which caused an overflow onto Restwell Road but nope.... didn't do anything to co-ordinate that traffic... just decided to play games with me and made me wait just for a powertrip.... and btw my dashcam caught everything so don't even try denying it. Also, I very rarely give low reviews so you know this really didn't sit well with me.
Rodneyplace,They took my car and then sent me a photo of a "rust hole" under the car, reducing the offer by $350. The car had no rust. They just photoshopped a picture.
Rodneyplace,I waited all day for pickup. Called at 5pm and they said "the driver forgot, can we come tomorrow?". Wasted a whole Saturday. They didn't even apologise.
Rodneyplace,They paid me via bank transfer but it bounced. Then they said "we'll resend it in 3-5 days". It took another 2 weeks. I was literally living without that money.
Rodneyplace,They quoted $650. On the phone, I told them about every scratch and issue. On pickup, they claimed "unexpected damage" and offered $300. I felt totally scammed.
Rodneyplace,They quoted me $750 on the phone. The driver inspected my car, pointed at a tiny scuff on the bumper, and dropped the offer to $300. I told him to leave. Waste of time.
Rodneyplace,They took my car, then called me 2 days later saying "we can only pay half because the car has been in an accident before". I disclosed that upfront. They just wanted to lowball me.
Rodneyplace,The driver arrived without a tow truck. He said "I was just coming to inspect it first". I took a day off work for nothing. They wasted my whole day.
Rodneyplace,They promised to pay $600. When the driver came, he said he only had $400 cash and "that's the best I can do". I felt pressured and took it. Regret it.
Rodneyplace,They quoted me $500. After they took the car, they emailed saying "the cost of scrapping is higher than expected" and deducted $250. Never mentioned that upfront.
Rodneyplace,They said they'd pay the same day. It's been 3 weeks. I call every few days and they say "accounting is processing it". Still nothing. Absolute joke.
Rodneyplace,The driver was so rude he made my partner cry. He kept pressuring her to accept $200 less and wouldn't take no for an answer. She gave in just to get rid of him.
Rodneyplace,They took my car and then claimed the logbook was "missing" – it was in the glovebox. They reduced the offer by $150. When I called, they said "we can't find it". Liars.
Rodneyplace,Booked a 10am pickup. They arrived at 3pm with no call. The driver had an attitude and rushed me. I felt like I was doing him a favour, not the other way around.
Rodneyplace,They quoted $900. On pickup, they said "the clutch feels weak" and offered $450. The clutch was fine. I had it replaced 6 months ago. They were just making stuff up.
Rodneyplace,The driver didn't have the payment on him. Said "the office will transfer it tonight". They didn't. I chased them for 2 weeks. Got paid eventually but so much stress.
Rodneyplace,They took my car, scrapped it immediately (I tracked it), and then told me "we can't pay you until the title clears". It cleared the next day. They lied to delay payment.
Rodneyplace,They said "we'll beat any written quote". I sent them a quote for $850. They offered $400 and said "that's our best price". Didn't even match it. Wasted my time.
Rodneyplace,The driver took my keys, loaded the car, then said "by the way, we deduct $200 for processing". I said no, he said "too late, it's already on the truck". Felt robbed.
Rodneyplace,They promised a cheque on pickup. The driver said "I don't do cheques, it's bank transfer only". Then the transfer took 4 days. I had no car and no money.
Rodneyplace,They took my car, then called me 5 days later saying "the car smells like smoke, we need to deduct $150". I don't smoke. The car never smelled. Complete fabrication.
Rodneyplace,The driver was late, rude, and kept coughing without covering his mouth. He touched everything in my car. Then he tried to short-change me. Disgusting experience.
Rodneyplace,They quoted $500. On the day, they said "the battery is dead, that'll cost us to replace" and offered $250. The battery was 2 months old. They just wanted a discount.
Rodneyplace,They took my car and emailed me a receipt with the wrong VIN. I called to correct it. They said "it's fine, doesn't matter". It does matter for my records. Careless.
Rodneyplace,They said they'd pay within 48 hours. 10 days later, still nothing. I called and they said "we're waiting for the driver to submit his report". He submitted it on day 1.
Rodneyplace,The driver was smoking near my car while loading it. I told him to stop. He said "relax mate". Unprofessional and disrespectful. I'll never use them again.
Rodneyplace,They quoted $800. After they took the car, they sent photos of "rust" that wasn't there before. They reduced the offer by $400. I suspect they caused the damage.
Rodneyplace,They quoted $800. After they took the car, they sent photos of "rust" that wasn't there before. They reduced the offer by $400. I suspect they caused the damage.
Rodneyplace,They took my car away and I never heard from them. I called 5 times, left messages, nothing. Finally got through and they said "oh, we forgot to process it". A month later.
Rodneyplace,The driver offered to pay me cash but under the table. He said "I'll give you $300 cash, no paperwork". I said no. I wanted proper documentation. Shady business.
Rodneyplace,They promised cash on pickup. The driver said "I don't carry cash, the office will transfer you". They transferred it a week later. Felt like a scam from the start.
Rodneyplace,They took my car, scrapped it, and then told me "we can't pay you because the car had a loan on it". I told them about the loan. They said it was fine. Until it wasn't.
Rodneyplace,The driver argued with me for 15 minutes about the agreed price. He wanted to pay $200 less. I had to show him my phone recording of the quote. He finally paid up.
Rodneyplace,They quoted $1200 for my 4x4. On pickup, they said "the gearbox is leaking" – it wasn't – and offered $600. I told them to leave. Sold it elsewhere for $1100.
Rodneyplace,They took my car, then called me to say "we can't find the keys you gave us". I had given them to the driver. They said "are you sure?" Accused me of lying.
Rodneyplace,They were supposed to pick up my car on Monday. They came Thursday with no notice. I had already sold it to someone else. They got angry at me. Unprofessional.
Rodneyplace,They quoted $550. The driver arrived, looked at the car, and said "this is worth $250 max". I said "you quoted $550". He said "that was a mistake". No accountability.
Rodneyplace,They took my car and didn't pay me for 6 weeks. I threatened to report them for theft. They paid within 24 hours. Clearly they were just holding my money hostage.
Rodneyplace,The driver used a winch that scratched my bumper. He said "the car was already like that". It wasn't. I had photos. He eventually admitted it but didn't compensate.
Rodneyplace,They said "we'll give you $800 if the car runs". It ran perfectly. When the driver came, he said "the engine light is on" – I told them about that on the phone – and offered $400.
Rodneyplace,Our renovation turned into a nightmare. The builder promised a 12‑week finish, but we’re into month eight and still no kitchen. Workmanship is shocking—tiles are crooked and grout is already crumbling. Communication stopped once the deposit cleared. I’m left with a half‑finished mess.
Rodneyplace,Hired them for a bathroom reno. Waterproofing failed within a month, now the ceiling downstairs is stained and sagging. They refuse to take responsibility, blaming us for using the shower. The tiling was uneven and the silicone mouldy. Absolute cowboys.
Rodneyplace,The extension is riddled with defects. Doors don’t close, the slab has visible cracks, and the roof leaks every time it rains. They cut corners everywhere, used the cheapest materials, and vanished when I asked them to fix anything. $150k wasted.
Rodneyplace,Appalling behaviour from the site supervisor. He yelled at my wife, left cigarette butts everywhere, and the portaloo overflowed for days. The framing is out of square and the windows were installed backwards. We had to engage a lawyer just to get them off site.
Rodneyplace,The new build was supposed to be our dream home, but it’s a disaster. The paint is peeling off in sheets, the floors squeak, and the electrical work is dangerous—power points sparked. Builder blames the trades, but he’s the one who hired them. No accountability.
Rodneyplace,They took our $50k deposit and started demolition, then progress ground to a halt. Excuses every week—sick crew, supplier delays, bad weather. Six months later, just a slab. When we complained, they threatened to walk off the job unless we paid more. Scam artists.
Rodneyplace,The deck they built is a safety hazard. Boards aren’t spaced properly, nails are popping up, and the handrail wobbles. It’s only been two months. The builder said it’s “within tolerance”—what a joke. Now ignoring my calls.
Rodneyplace,I wish I’d read reviews before hiring them. They did a shoddy roof restoration that caused more leaks than before. Water pours through the ceiling during storms. They sent a guy out who smeared silicone everywhere and called it fixed. Useless.
Rodneyplace,They promised a luxury finish but delivered a rental‑grade cheap mess. Splashback tiles are chipped, paint is patchy, and the floorboards are already cupping. The final invoice was $30k over quote with no explanation. Avoid at all costs.
Rodneyplace,Workers stole tools from my shed and denied it. The site was never secured, materials got rained on, and the framing timber warped. They framed a door in the wrong spot and refused to fix it because “it was on the plan” (it wasn’t). Liars.
Rodneyplace,The bathroom tiles are a different shade to what we picked, they used the wrong grout colour, and the shower screen was installed crooked. The tilers left grout haze all over everything. Builder said it’s “character”. It’s just crap work.
Rodneyplace,Dismissive, rude, and incompetent. The retaining wall they built collapsed after the first heavy rain because they didn’t put in drainage. When I asked about engineering, they got defensive. Now I’m paying another tradie to redo it. Legal action underway.
Rodneyplace,The granny flat is unusable. There’s a constant sewer smell because the plumbing wasn’t vented properly. The hot water system runs cold after three minutes. They just walked away leaving defects everywhere. Council is now involved—nightmare.
Rodneyplace,I had to babysit them every day. If I wasn’t there, nothing got done, or it was done wrong. The cornice is cracked, there’s gaps in the skirting, and the paintwork looks like it was applied with a broom. They charged premium rates for apprentice‑level quality.
Rodneyplace,They damaged my neighbour’s fence and driveway with their truck and refuse to pay for repairs. Inside, they removed a load‑bearing wall without proper supports, causing ceiling cracks. We had to vacate for safety. Absolutely reckless.
Rodneyplace,Took forever to start, then rushed the job to catch up. Concrete path sloped towards the house causing flooding. The front door binds because the opening is out of square. They’ve blocked my number now. I’m left with a half‑fixed mess.
Rodneyplace,The builder was lovely until the contract was signed, then a monster. Yelled at me when I questioned his shortcuts. The ensuite waterproofing failed, mould everywhere. He blamed me for not ventilating enough. I have a newborn, so stressed.
Rodneyplace,$300k extension, 18 months on and still not habitable. Leaking roof, cracked plaster, windows that don’t open, and the aircon doesn’t work because the ducting wasn’t connected. They’ve been paid 95% so no incentive to finish. Incompetence at every turn.
Rodneyplace,They left the site like a bomb site each night. Rubbish, food wrappers, timber with nails sticking out. My dog stepped on a nail and needed surgery. They didn’t care. Also used unlicensed subcontractors for electrical work, I found out later.
Rodneyplace,Promised premium appliances, installed second‑hand scratched ones. Cabinet doors delaminating after three months, hinges rusted. The island bench wasn’t secured and shifted when you leaned on it. The whole kitchen feels like a dodgy flip. Horrible.
Rodneyplace,I hired them for a simple pergola; they attached it to the house without any permit, compromising the brick veneer. Council issued a stop‑work and demolition order. Builder vanished. I’m left with a dangerous structure and huge fines.
Rodneyplace,After the roof restoration, we found roof tiles cemented down over cracked sarking, vent pipes blocked with mortar, and valleys full of leaves they just tiled over. Leaks everywhere. They said it’s “as per standard practice”. Rogue.
Rodneyplace,The concrete driveway is already spalling and cracking after one summer. They didn’t put in control joints, used too much water in the mix, and laid it on an uncompacted base. Now it looks 50 years old. No comeback.
Rodneyplace,They installed a water tank and pump system incorrectly, which contaminated our drinking water with stagnant sludge. We all got sick. Public health got involved. The builder denied any fault, said he followed the manual (he didn’t).
Rodneyplace,The laundry renovation flooded the kitchen below because they forgot to connect the drain. Water cascaded through the light fittings. They blamed the apprentice and offered a $200 discount for the trouble. My insurance excess is $1000. Beyond furious.
Rodneyplace,Builder pressured me to pay cash to avoid GST, then didn’t issue proper invoices. Now I can’t claim anything for warranty because there’s no paper trail. Roof is sagging, he says it’s not his problem. Dodgy, dodgy, dodgy.
Rodneyplace,They promised a 7‑star energy rating but built a leaky sieve. Gaps around windows you can see daylight through, no insulation in internal walls, and the slab edge missing thermal break. Our heating bills are insane. He said “she’ll be right”. Far from it.
Rodneyplace,Disorganised chaos. Deliveries sent back because no one was on site to accept them, materials left in the rain, windows installed with no flashing tape. The whole build feels like a comedy of errors, except it cost our life savings.
Rodneyplace,Took our old roof tiles and sold them without permission, then tried to charge us for new ones we didn’t approve. When we protested, they abandoned the job with a half‑tiled roof. Rain came through and destroyed the ceiling. Absolute thieves.
Rodneyplace,Deliberately hid defects with quick fixes. They bogged over cracks instead of taping joints, painted over mouldy plasterboard, and siliconed gaps in weatherboards that should have been flashed. The house is rotting from inside and we’re only discovering it now.
Rodneyplace,“Master Builder” my foot. They can’t cut a straight line, the architraves have 5mm gaps, the stair stringers are creaking, and the floors bounce. They said it’s normal settlement. It’s been a month, the cracks are getting worse.
Rodneyplace,The bathroom reno was never properly waterproofed—no water stop, no bond breaker, just a quick paint‑on membrane. I’m told it will fail within a year. They collected full payment, of course. Now I have to rip it all out before it rots.
Rodneyplace,Our extension roof leaked from day one. They “fixed” it four times, each time making the ceiling messier. Water now runs down the cavity into the original house, causing mould. They stopped answering emails. Legal action started, but the money's gone.
Rodneyplace,Stains on brand new carpet from tradie boots, deep scratches on the hardwood floors, and a smashed window from rough handling. They denied it all. Security camera proved them wrong. Still waiting for compensation.
Rodneyplace,The builder constantly changed the scope without telling me, then charged for “extras” at the end. Items in the contract were simply not done—like insulation in the ceiling. Now we freeze. When called out, he blamed the estimator and said “nothing he can do”.
Rodneyplace,Absolutely the worst decision I ever made. They took six weeks off over Christmas without telling us, left the roof uncovered, and a storm flooded the entire upstairs. They shrugged and said “act of God”. Our insurance premium will haunt us.
Rodneyplace,Site supervisor was never there. Trades had no direction, they framed a wall short, missing the ceiling junction. To fix, they scabbed on timber and packed it with plaster. I only found out when the cornice cracked wide open. Scary.
Rodneyplace,The painting is horrendous. Overspray on windows, ceilings cut in wobbly lines, gaps not filled, doors painted shut. They used interior paint on exterior trim. Said they’d fix it, came back and made it worse. I gave up and repainted myself.
Rodneyplace,They dug the footings too shallow against engineer’s spec. I caught them and they argued. I had to get the engineer out to condemn it. They walked off, leaving a huge trench. Now another builder won’t touch it without full re‑engineering. Costly betrayal.
Rodneyplace,Bricklaying is a disgrace—perps and beds all over the place, mortar colour inconsistent, bricks chipped. The cavity is full of snots. They said it will render over, so doesn’t matter. It matters because I paid for a face brick finish. Liars.
Rodneyplace,They treated my property like a party house. Loud music, drinking on site, foul language. Neighbours complained repeatedly. They left the front door wide open one weekend, house could’ve been robbed. Zero professionalism.
Rodneyplace,After they finished, we discovered they’d laid floor tiles directly over water‑damaged particleboard. It’s now spongy and cracking. Plumber they used didn’t tighten a joint behind the wall, causing a slow leak that’s destroyed the cabinetry. Insurance won’t cover poor workmanship.
Rodneyplace,The build has multiple non‑compliant elements. The balcony balustrade is below minimum height, stair treads are different heights, and smoke alarms were never connected. The private certifier they recommended just passed it anyway. Dangerous.
Rodneyplace,Constant no‑shows. Would promise to be there Monday, then nothing all week. They’d appear Saturday for a couple of hours, do half a job, and leave. Dragged a two‑month job into a year. I cried with relief when they finally abandoned the site.
Rodneyplace,The quote was a bait‑and‑switch. Low price, then endless “unforeseen” charges once walls were opened. They’d stop work until I paid variations. Ended up 70% over budget. And the quality was terrible—squeaky floors, gaps everywhere.
Rodneyplace,Unlicensed builder operating on a dodgy owner‑builder permit he talked us into. Shocking decision. Now we have an illegal structure, no certificate of occupancy, and a broken marriage from the stress. He’s vanished.
Rodneyplace,The feature front door was scratched deeply upon installation and they tried to hide it with a coloured filler that doesn’t match. The lock doesn’t line up so you have to shoulder‑barge it to open. They said it’ll settle. Unacceptable.
Rodneyplace,Ceiling insulation was installed incorrectly—covering downlights, no gaps around exhaust fans, leading to overheating and a small fire in the roof. Fire brigade attended. Builder said “not my problem, electrical fault”. Terrifying.
Rodneyplace,Worst decision of my life hiring them. They left the site without a temporary fence, kids from the street wandered in and vandalised. My insurance won’t cover because site wasn’t secure. Builder not answering. Police report lodged.
Rodneyplace,I asked for soundproofing between master bedroom and living area; they just used standard single layer plasterboard. The TV sound travels like it’s in the same room. Not what I paid for. They say “it’s not in the scope”, but I have emails proving it.
Rodneyplace,The stone paving around the pool wasn’t laid on a concrete bed, just on sand, so now it’s sinking and uneven. Trip hazard. The coping is already loose. Builder says it’s the landscaper’s fault, but he managed it. No one takes ownership.
Rodneyplace,The fire‑rated wall between the garage and house was built without fire‑rated plasterboard and has gaps. That’s a code violation. When I pointed it out, they smeared some fire sealant on the surface. Dangerous and illegal.
Rodneyplace,They used an independent certifier who passed stages without proper inspection. Framing has missing tie‑downs, missing noggins. We got a private building inspector who found 150 defects. The builder refuses to acknowledge the report.
Rodneyplace,They left a skylight unsealed for a week during rainy weather, and water damaged the hallway ceiling. Instead of replacing the plaster, they just painted over the stain. The stain bled through in days. Laziness everywhere.
Rodneyplace,The kitchen stone benchtop was joined with a massive 5mm silicone bead that’s already stained and mouldy. They said it’s standard, but it looks like a DIY bodge. The sink cutout is rough and undersized, causing the sink to rust at the edge.
Rodneyplace,Fencing contractor they used knocked down part of my existing fence and just propped it up. It blew over in the wind damaging the car. Neither the builder nor fencing bloke will accept responsibility. Now I’m suing both.
Rodneyplace,The water pressure is terrible because they used undersized piping and too many elbows. Shower dribbles when another tap is on. They say it meets code, but it’s useless. Now I need a repipe at my expense.
Rodneyplace,Appalling finish in the new laundry. Benchtop not fixed, tap spindle hits the window sill, and the cabinet doors hit each other when opened. They shrugged and said “it works”. Quality just isn’t in their vocabulary.
Rodneyplace,Built a retaining wall that leans outward after three months. No geogrid, no drainage, just a stack of sleepers. It’s on a boundary and now slipping into neighbour’s land. Council wants it demolished. Builder’s phone disconnected.
Rodneyplace,The garage remote was never programmed, a minor thing they said they’d do. Then the concrete slab cracked, water seeps under the door, and the roller door came off its track and nearly hit my car. No response to emergency callout.
Rodneyplace,The decking boards have huge gaps, varied spacing, and splinters. They used untreated pine for joists on a ground‑level deck, already rotting. They said it’s to “budget”. I paid for treated hardwood. Replaced with rubbish.
Rodneyplace,Our contract had a fixed completion date with liquidated damages. They didn’t finish, and now they’ve gone into liquidation. The liquidator says I’m an unsecured creditor. House is 80% done with defects galore. Left holding the bag.
Rodneyplace,The colour selection process was a joke. They ordered the wrong brick colour, wrong roof profile, and the windows are a different shade of white to the fascia. They said it’s close enough. I cried when I saw the house.
Rodneyplace,The roof framing has sags because they spaced the rafters too far. The roofer then laid the tiles, and now the roofline is wavy. You can see it from the street. Builder says it’s an optical illusion. No, it’s crap work.
Rodneyplace,They demolished our old bathroom and found asbestos. Instead of stopping and getting hygienist, they kept smashing it up without PPE, contaminating the whole house. We had to move out for weeks and pay for decontamination. They downplayed it as “just fibro”.
Rodneyplace,Constant delays with materials because the builder’s credit was bad and suppliers wouldn’t release until paid. They’d ask me to pay suppliers directly, then still charge me their margin. Double dipping. I had to pay to unlock the site.
Rodneyplace,The trades would use our toilet without permission, leaving it disgusting. They broke the toilet seat and didn’t replace it. They ate lunch in the living room, leaving grease marks on the wall. Just disrespectful animals.
Rodneyplace,I paid extra for acoustic insulation between floors; they didn’t install it. I can hear every footstep from above. When I complained, they showed me an invoice with a tick, but opened a ceiling cavity and it’s empty. Fraud.
Rodneyplace,The builder borrowed my wheelbarrow and never returned it. Small thing, but symbolic. The real issue is the crooked brickwork and the missing cavity flashing allowing water in. The damp course is bridged by mortar droppings, causing rising damp. Nightmare.
Rodneyplace,The plasterboard is telegraphing the studs because they didn’t glue properly. Every wall has vertical shadow lines. They also tiled straight onto plywood in the wet areas—no cement sheet. This will rot. They told me not to worry. I worry.
Rodneyplace,They ignored every instruction about heritage restrictions. Used modern aluminium windows on a character home without approval. Council red‑flagged it. Had to rip them out and start again. Builder demanded extra for “revision work”. Ridiculous.
Rodneyplace,The floor they laid is like a rollercoaster. Up to 30mm variation across the living room. They said it’s the slab, but they should have screeded it level. Now the bifold doors bind. And the kitchen island rocks. Unlivable.
Rodneyplace,The verandah roof drains onto the neighbour’s property contrary to regulations, causing a dispute. The builder just shrugged. I’m now facing legal action from the neighbour thanks to their incompetence. They also connected stormwater to sewer. Disaster.
Rodneyplace,I found a dead possum in the wall because they left a cavity gap and it got trapped. The smell was unbearable. They sealed the hole without removing it. They also left off a weep hole cover and bees moved in. Indescribable.
Rodneyplace,Within weeks of moving in, the kitchen cupboard shelves collapsed under the weight of plates. They used 3mm MDF for shelving. The bench stone cracked near the sink because the substrate wasn’t level. Builder says I overloaded it. Insulting.
Rodneyplace,The sliding door track was installed with a bow; door jams midway. They said “just lift it”. The frame isn’t anchored properly so whole wall moves. They added a screw into the brick but missed the stud. Pathetic.
Rodneyplace,They charged me for a site supervisor hours, but I never saw anyone supervising. Trades would ask me what to do. Bathroom waterproofing was done by an apprentice on his first day. Leaks already. A con job.
Rodneyplace,Took 18 months to build a simple carport. Timber warped before it was painted, roof sheets dented from being walked on, gutters full of screws and debris. The rain drips between the carport and house because no flashing. Useless.
Rodneyplace,The stair balustrade has gaps wide enough for a child to fall through. It doesn’t comply with BCA. Builder said “it looks modern”. Safety doesn’t matter to these people, just aesthetics. Won’t fix without more money.
Rodneyplace,They cut through a sewer pipe when digging footings and didn’t tell anyone, just concreted over it. Blockages and backflow months later. Cost thousands in plumbing emergency and concrete cutting. They claim ignorance.
Rodneyplace,Horrible experience from start to finish. They underestimated the job, ran out of money, and demanded an extra 40% to complete. When we refused, they gutted the bathroom and left it that way. We had to take out a loan to get someone else to finish.
Rodneyplace,Our kitchen ceiling was lowered to accommodate ducting; the new ceiling has multiple levels, wavy joints, and they didn’t relocate the light points properly. Light switches now behind doors. Ridiculous lack of planning.
Rodneyplace,The feature wall they built looks like a drunk person did it. Bricks aren’t level, mortar is all over the face, and the window they installed in it is 20mm out of plumb. They said I’ll get used to it. No, I won’t.
Rodneyplace,They started a second‑floor addition but didn’t strengthen the ground floor framing. Floor bounce is alarming, plaster cracks propagate down the walls. An independent inspector said the whole thing’s under‑engineered. Builder says “it passed certifier”. Certifier is his mate.
Rodneyplace,The garage slab was poured out of square; the roller door doesn’t seal, letting in water and vermin. They tried to pack out the door mounts with washers, looks terrible. Refuse to redo it. Now mice infestation.
Rodneyplace,The “custom” joinery was kit flatpack they assembled poorly. Drawers jam, doors misalign, soft‑close hinges not fitted. They charged custom timber prices. When I complained, they got aggressive and told me I was “too fussy”. Criminal.
Rodneyplace,The builder subcontracted out everything to the cheapest bidders, and it shows. Tiling uneven, waterproofing with bubbles, plasterboard joints cracking. I had to move out for six months, now I'm back and the house is falling apart. No warranty response.
Rodneyplace,They nailed the weatherboards instead of screwing them, and they’re already popping. Paint peeling because no primer was used. The site was a pigsty; I found multiple used syringes. Unbelievable risk to my kids.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber they used caused extensive damage—disconnected downpipes, so water poured into the wall cavity. Mould in the plaster, skirting swelling. Builder refused to accept liability, said I must have had a leak before. Gaslighting at its finest.
Rodneyplace,Our balcony has a negative fall back to the house, so water pools at the sliding door and seeps inside every time it rains. The waterproofing was clearly not turned up. Now the door frame is rotting. They told us to “just sweep the water off”.
Rodneyplace,Interior doors were hung with no clearance for carpet, so they plane the bottom off on‑site, splintering the veneer. Look terrible. The bypass doors on robes fall off the track daily. They said it’s “normal wear and tear”. Clowns.
Rodneyplace,I found empty beer bottles hidden in the wall cavities during a subsequent inspection. The electrical work was done by an unlicensed mate, wires just twisted together and taped. Could have burned the house down. Terrifying.
Rodneyplace,The tiles in the pool surround are razor sharp because they didn’t grind edges, grout is already black with mould, and the coping stones are loose. They blame the pool builder—but they were the ones who engaged them. No coordination, just blame shifting.
Rodneyplace,Constant harassment for progress payments before work was done. I paid for lock‑up stage but windows weren’t even installed. They threatened to down tools if I didn’t pay. I stood firm, they caused malicious damage. Never again.
Rodneyplace,They faked an engineer’s certificate for the steel beam. When I checked with the engineer directly, he’d never seen it. Beam undersized, ceiling sagging. Builder claimed it was a “mix‑up”. We had to evacuate. Now fighting through QCAT.
Rodneyplace,The front door handle fell off in my hand the first week. The hinges are already rusting. All the door hardware is the cheapest Bunnings bulk pack. They charged for designer hardware. Swapped.
Rodneyplace,The builder ghosted us for six months after taking the final payment, leaving a long defect list. We had to get another builder to finish the waterproofing and tiling at great cost. He’s probably done this to many others.
Rodneyplace,The concrete slab has high moisture readings; they didn’t put a vapour barrier, now the floor coverings are bubbling. Timber laminate cupping, carpet smells musty. I’m on a concrete slab with no recourse.
Rodneyplace,The garage roof is a flat deck with no falls, ponding 50mm of water. It’s seeping through the seams. The structural engineer says it’s under‑designed for ponding load. Builder’s response: “just sweep it off.” Impossible.
Rodneyplace,They used MDF skirting and architraves in wet areas instead of moisture‑resistant. Already swelling and de‑laminating. The tiler butted tiles up against it, no gap for expansion. Cracks galore. Entirely avoidable.
Rodneyplace,They destroyed my established garden with their machinery, ran over irrigation, and left a trench open for weeks. The garden is dead, cost thousands to replant. They said “outdoor area wasn’t part of the contract”. No respect.
Rodneyplace,The bi‑fold doors were installed without a structural header, the lintel is sagging, doors won’t close. The whole opening needs re‑engineering. They said “that’s how we always do it”. Scary.
Rodneyplace,Our new home’s external cladding is already fading and warping because they used a non‑compliant product for our bushfire zone. I found out after the council inspection. They falsified the BAL certificate.
Rodneyplace,The builder engaged a plumber who connected hot and cold in reverse to the shower. Scalding risk for my kids. I discovered it the hard way. They said “easy fix” but it took three visits and still not right.
Rodneyplace,They mismeasured the kitchen, the cabinet run didn’t fit, so they cut an end panel on‑site with a jigsaw, a jagged mess. The benchtop overhangs inconsistently. They told me the wall was out—excuse for everything.
Rodneyplace,The “fixed price” contract turned into a nightmare of provisional sum variations. Everything was an extra. By the end, the build cost doubled. And they still delivered a substandard home with a leaking shower.
Rodneyplace,They installed a downlight directly into a ceiling joist by notching it, weakening the structure. The light flickers because the cable is crushed. Fire hazard. They have no idea about regulations.
Rodneyplace,The en‑suite door swings into the toilet pan, so you have to straddle the toilet to close it. Poor planning. They said “it’s to plan”—but the plan was their design. They refused to rehang it because they’d already tiled and painted.
Rodneyplace,I specifically asked for low‑VOC products due to asthma. They used high‑VOC paints and solvents, and I ended up in hospital. They said they “forgot”. My health isn’t their concern, apparently.
Rodneyplace,The roof space is full of offcuts, lunch wrappers, and empty drink cans. The insulation was thrown in, massive gaps. They also disconnected the extraction fan ducting, so bathroom steam vents into the roof. Mould and a fire risk.
Rodneyplace,The driveway is stained with concrete slurry because they didn’t protect the exposed aggregate. Looks terrible. They also dented the garage door with the mini excavator. No admission. My CCTV shows it, but they don’t care.
Rodneyplace,The quote said “supply and install quality appliances”; they installed a no‑name dishwasher that sounds like a jet engine and doesn’t clean. The oven door doesn’t seal. I’m told it’s equivalent value. It’s garbage.
Rodneyplace,They used a water‑based paint in the wet areas that just wipes off with moisture. The bathroom walls are streaky and mouldy. The ceiling paint is already peeling from steam. It’s been three months. Unusable.
Rodneyplace,They concreted the fence post into my neighbour’s property. The fence line is 300mm over the boundary. Now I have an encroachment and a neighbour from hell. The builder says the surveyor pegs were wrong, but he never checked. Costly.
Rodneyplace,The power points in the kitchen are all on one circuit and trip constantly. They didn’t run separate circuits for the fridge or microwave. When you use the toaster and kettle together—boom. They said “just don’t use together”. Unfit for purpose.
Rodneyplace,The window in the shower was installed without a reveal drainage system, no fall on the sill, water pools and rots the timber reveal. Already wood rot after four months. They said “you should have picked an aluminium window”. Gaslighters.
Rodneyplace,The entire second storey floor squeaks and feels spongy because they used undersized joists to save money. The ceiling below has cracked. An engineer’s review says it needs stiffening. They said it meets minimum code. Minimum code is rubbish.
Rodneyplace,They started the extension without a party wall agreement, cracking the neighbour’s interior wall. The neighbour sued me. The builder didn’t notify anyone. I’m facing a massive legal bill and the build stopped.
Rodneyplace,Our contract had a prime cost allowance for tiles of $40/sqm; the tiles they supplied were $18/sqm closeout crap. They pocketed the difference. I had to pay extra to upgrade to something not pink. Deceptive.
Rodneyplace,The kitchen island was placed directly over the slab joint, which moved and cracked the stone benchtop. They didn’t install anti‑crack membrane. Now the bench is in two pieces. They say it’s a natural stone characteristic. Liars.
Rodneyplace,They told me they had insurance, but it lapsed mid‑build. When a storm damaged the unroofed framing, I was left with the bill. They just said “bad luck”. Now I have water‑damaged timber they won’t replace. Cowboy.
Rodneyplace,The house wrap was put on inside out, trapping moisture. After the cladding went on, we had a condensation nightmare. All the insulation is soaked and mouldy. A huge strip‑out required. He claims it’s not proven.
Rodneyplace,The internal stairs creak so badly you can hear them across the house. The treads are not glued and screwed, just nailed. The balustrade posts are wobbly. The builder said stairs always creak. Not like this they don’t.
Rodneyplace,The earthworks caused a landslide in the neighbour’s yard because no sediment control or retaining was done during cut. They just kept digging. Now there’s a $40k rectification bill. The builder says it’s not his fault.
Rodneyplace,They ordered the wrong roof tiles, a different profile, and mixed batches so the roof looks patchy. When it rains, water cascades off the wrong overhang and pours onto the air conditioning unit. No eaves gutter in one section—nonsense.
Rodneyplace,The builder’s idea of “finished” is a joke. Paint splatters on floor, windows not cleaned, stickers left on, grout haze on tiles, sawdust in cupboards. The house needed a professional clean before we could move in. He said cleaning is the owner’s job.
Rodneyplace,Windows were installed without cavity flashings, water tracks down inside the brickwork. Paint inside is bubbling, mould growing on the plaster. They said it’s condensation. A building inspector confirmed it’s a leak. Now I’m chasing insurance.
Rodneyplace,The whole build was a litany of lies. They promised a site supervisor on site daily, never saw him. Promised premium insulation, got basic. Promised weekly updates, none. I was the project manager chasing my own builder. Exhausting.
Rodneyplace,The deck stairs have different riser heights—the bottom step is nearly 250mm, top is 150mm. Trip central. The handrail stops short. Not compliant. They said it’s “as per plan”, but the plan was generic. They just didn’t measure.
Rodneyplace,They installed the hot water unit in a location that blocks access to the electrical meter, and didn’t allow minimum clearances. The energy provider won’t connect until it’s moved. Builder wants $2k to relocate it. Shambles.
Rodneyplace,The laundry floor is sloped away from the floor waste, water runs to the hallway. They installed the waste in the wrong spot and didn’t screed correctly. It’s a slip hazard. They said to use a bathmat. Unbelievable.
Rodneyplace,Carpets were laid before paint was dry, paint stuck to the backing. They stretched it poorly, wrinkles everywhere. The carpet layers also cut the carpet too short at transitions. Now it’s fraying. They won’t replace it.
Rodneyplace,The builder kept “borrowing” from our deposit to finish other jobs. Ran out of money for materials on our job, so we had to pay again. He promised to offset at final claim, then did a runner. Financial devastation.
Rodneyplace,Underground stormwater pipes were laid with a backfall, so water sits and attracts mosquitoes. During heavy rain, the downpipes overflow. They just dug a shallow trench and buried it, no gravel, no inspection. Now the driveway is lifting.
Rodneyplace,The promised “luxurious” ensuite has a plastic shower base already cracked because they didn’t bed it properly on mortar. The vanity is chipboard swelling from splashback water because it wasn’t sealed. Cheap, nasty, and overpriced.
Rodneyplace,All the cornice mitres are open and cracking. The painter filled them with caulk that has shrunk. The whole ceiling looks patchy from multiple paint touch‑ups. The house is brand new but feels 30 years old.
Rodneyplace,They never put expansion foam around windows; cracks everywhere and drafts. The front door you can see daylight around all four sides. They filled it with silicone which has perished. My energy bills are through the roof.
Rodneyplace,They ordered windows with the wrong opening configuration—awning where sliding were spec'd, fixed panels where awning needed. They said “it’s what we could get”. Now ventilation is poor and egress doesn't meet code for bedrooms. Refuse to swap.
Rodneyplace,The building surveyor they engaged was struck off for corrupt practices. Our occupancy permit is now invalid. The builder has disappeared. We are left with a house we can't legally live in and a mountain of debt.
Rodneyplace,Plasterboard installed backwards in the bathroom (wrong face for waterproofing). The tiler then tiled it anyway. Shower leaks into wall cavity, tiles are falling off. Total redo needed. Builder blames the plasterer, who’s his brother‑in‑law.
Rodneyplace,The builder forged the engineer’s inspection report by copying the stamp onto a blank form. We found out when the slab cracked and the engineer confirmed he never attended. Now the whole thing may need demolishing. Criminal act.
Rodneyplace,They cut corners on the balcony waterproofing, using a liquid membrane without reinforcing. The balcony leaks onto the patio below. Tiles are now drummy and lifting. They came back and put a bead of silicone as a fix. Joke.
Rodneyplace,The garage plasterboard isn’t fire rated, despite being attached to the house. The certifier passed it, but I know it’s wrong. Builder says “not our problem, certifier signed off”. I’m living with a fire risk.
Rodneyplace,They installed a roof vent that howls in the wind, and instead of changing to a different type, they said “just block it up”. Now I have no roof ventilation and it still howls. Totally useless.
Rodneyplace,The bedroom window is positioned so that the bedhead covers half of it. No one thought about furniture placement. The bathroom door swings hitting the toilet. Poor design, but they blame the plan.
Rodneyplace,The engineered floorboards were stored on site without acclimatisation, laid immediately, and now they’ve buckled and gapped. It looks like a wave pool. They blame humidity. They should know better.
Rodneyplace,The builder gave me a start date, I moved out and rented. They didn’t start for three months. I wasted thousands in rent. Then they needed an extra four months, no compensation. They just don’t care about the human cost.
Rodneyplace,During demolition, they cut through the main electrical feed to the house, live. No lock‑out, no DB isolation. Lucky no one died. They just taped it up and kept going. I had to get an emergency electrician. Insane risk.
Rodneyplace,During demolition, they cut through the main electrical feed to the house, live. No lock‑out, no DB isolation. Lucky no one died. They just taped it up and kept going. I had to get an emergency electrician. Insane risk.
Rodneyplace,The kitchen splashback window was installed 100mm too low, so the rangehood ducting runs across the window opening, blocking half the glass. They said “the brick opening was like that”. They built the brick opening!
Rodneyplace,They chipped the edge of the new bath during installation, filled it with white silicone that’s already mouldy. The bath is a feature, now an eyesore. They refuse to replace because “it’s functional”.
Rodneyplace,The roof insulation was placed over the downlights with no clearance, a fire risk. I only found out when one light kept tripping. They said it’s fine, I had to get an independent electrical inspection to prove otherwise.
Rodneyplace,The builder’s dog was on site constantly, barking, jumping, scratching the freshly painted walls. I’m a dog lover, but this was ridiculous. They also left dog poo in the yard. Unhygienic.
Rodneyplace,The balcony sliding door track was installed back‑to‑front, so the screen door is on the inside and fixed panel on the outside. I can't access the balcony without removing the screen. Bizarre.
Rodneyplace,The driveway crossover was poured over the council footpath without a permit, now council is making me remove it at my cost. The builder didn’t get approval, said “it’s easier to ask forgiveness”. Now I’m not forgiven.
Rodneyplace,They used MDF for the external window sills instead of hardwood or aluminium, painted with acrylic. Water has swollen them, they look like weetbix. The windows won’t open. They say “just paint them again”. Not the point.
Rodneyplace,The garage brick pier was built out of plumb by 40mm, so the steel lintel doesn’t fully bear. Cracks above garage door. They said “it’s within brickie tolerance”. Absolutely not.
Rodneyplace,The air conditioning ducts in the ceiling have collapsed because they used uninsulated flex duct squashed into tight spaces. No airflow in half the house. The system is useless. They say it’s the AC installer’s fault.
Rodneyplace,The downpipe from the upper roof discharges directly onto the lower tin roof with no spreader, causing noise and erosion. The roof sheet already perforated. They say “roof plumber says it’s okay”. It’s not.
Rodneyplace,All the internal doors are hollow core despite me paying for solid core. The difference is obvious in weight and sound. He says “that’s what the schedule says”, but schedule was his. Deception.
Rodneyplace,They left an open electrical junction behind the plaster with no box, just wire nuts. I discovered when hanging a picture and the screw sparked. Lucky I wasn’t electrocuted. Criminal negligence.
Rodneyplace,The porch roof was pitched the wrong way, draining onto the front door. Every time it rains, water comes under the door. The threshold is set too low. They say a storm door will fix it. Not on a brand new build.
Rodneyplace,The feature cladding was nailed with bright steel nails not stainless, rust streaks are already running down the boards. He said “we never use stainless, too expensive”. Charged for it though.
Rodneyplace,The building process was so stressful I developed shingles. The builder was a bully, threatened to walk off if I questioned anything. The ensuite has no door, just an opening, zero privacy. He said it’s “modern”. It’s lazy.
Rodneyplace,They drilled through a floor joist for a gas pipe, removing 80% of the material. Floor sagging. Gas pipe is now crushed. It’s a miracle it didn’t leak. Deadly incompetence.
Rodneyplace,The bathroom floor tiles are 600x600 with a high gloss and no slip rating. I’ve fallen twice. They’re dangerous, especially with kids. I asked for anti‑slip. They said “it’s what you chose” (I didn’t choose, they gave me one sample).
Rodneyplace,The house wrap had massive tears and wasn’t taped, just stapled. The sarking behind bricks is like a shredded curtain. They clad over it. The building inspector flagged it, but they closed up anyway.
Rodneyplace,They installed the oven without an isolation switch accessible. It’s hard‑wired and you have to go to the switchboard to turn off. Not compliant. Electrician they used was dodgy. They refuse to fix.
Rodneyplace,The tiler didn’t waterproof the shower hob, so water tracks under the shower screen and across the bathroom floor. The bathroom floor outside the shower is constantly wet. Mould on the door architrave. They left a mess.
Rodneyplace,I found mould behind the skirting in the bedroom because they covered damp plasterboard with no investigation of the leak. Now I have to rip the wall out, find the source, and remediate. They just want to cover and run.
Rodneyplace,The windows leaked air so badly the curtains move on a windy day. No weather seals were installed. They’re double‑hung sashless, so just gaps. I asked for weatherproof windows. They say “they are as supplied”. Useless.
Rodneyplace,Our garage floor has a depression where water collects, the drain is the high point. They said “concrete’s not perfect”. This is a lake. I slip constantly. $3000 to rectify with floor levelling.
Rodneyplace,The builder added a hidden “project management fee” in his variation claim that was never agreed. He also charged a margin on top of subcontractor invoices that already included his margin. Double dipping scoundrel.
Rodneyplace,The patio roof was attached without a permit and without a fall, so water ponds and rusts the tin. The gutters overflow because they’re too small. They claim it’s a “maintenance issue” after two months.
Rodneyplace,They didn’t protect the polished floorboards during the reno; they’re now scratched, gouged, and paint drips everywhere. $10k floor ruined. They said it’s “normal wear and tear”. Not during a build.
Rodneyplace,The shower screen shattered spontaneously because the glass wasn’t toughened safety glass, just ordinary float. My wife was in the bathroom, luckily not hurt. They said “must have been a defect”, no responsibility. Terrifying.
Rodneyplace,They demolished my old carport and left the slab which was asbestos‑contaminated. I had to pay for hazmat removal. They denied knowing, but they broke it up. Illegal and dangerous.
Rodneyplace,The builder “forgot” to install weep holes, so water sits in the wall cavity, damp course bridged by mortar. Brickwork efflorescence everywhere. They drilled some holes after the fact, but damage done.
Rodneyplace,The garage cavity sliding door was installed with the track hanging down from the opening, so you hit your head. It was meant to be pocket. They ordered the wrong kit and tried to make it work. Now I have a bruise.
Rodneyplace,The insulation was installed with massive compression around wires, reducing R‑value to nothing. They also left gaps around windows. The house is a freezer. They claimed R4.0 but it’s effectively R1.0. Scammed.
Rodneyplace,They drove a scissor lift over the new driveway and left deep gouges, then said the concrete was still green and I shouldn’t have let them drive on it. They were the ones driving!
Rodneyplace,They fitted the wrong hot water system—too small capacity. Showers run cold after one person. They said “it meets minimum requirements”, but it’s a family home with two bathrooms. Useless.
Rodneyplace,The balcony drain was never connected—water just poured out of the downpipe into the wall cavity. Two storeys of damage. He said the plumber would fix it, plumber never came. I had to hire an emergency plumber. Unresponsive.
Rodneyplace,The waterproofing in the laundry was only 100mm up the wall, not the required 150mm, and no bond breaker at floor/wall junction. Water penetration into the adjacent room. Amateur hour.
Rodneyplace,They stored heavy pallets of tiles on the suspended slab before it cured, causing cracking. The slab now has deflection. Engineer says structurally compromised. Builder blames tile supplier for early delivery. Unforgivable.
Rodneyplace,The builder verbally agreed to many things, none in the contract. He later denied everything. The retaining wall steps were supposed to be sandstone, ended up treated pine sleepers. The heating system downgraded. A lesson in getting everything in writing, but he’s a snake.
Rodneyplace,The shower niche was built without any waterproofing inside, just tiled onto plasterboard. The back of the niche is the hallway plaster. Now water is seeping through to the hallway. Wall is rotting. Horrifying.
Rodneyplace,The new staircase railing has no return to the wall, a hook hazard for clothes and children. Non‑compliant. They dismissed my concern, “it’s fine”. I’m not risking my child’s safety.
Rodneyplace,The builder refused to let me do a final inspection before final payment, then locked me out. I had to get a locksmith. Inside, defects everywhere—non‑functioning rangehood, leaking toilet, missing switches. He’s a conman.
Rodneyplace,They ran out of bricks and used a different batch from another pallet, completely different colour. It looks like a patchwork quilt. They refused to redo, said I should have ordered more. They did the estimating!
Rodneyplace,The tiler used a sledgehammer approach to cut tiles, chipped edges everywhere. The floor tile pattern is off‑centre, and cut tiles at walls are less than 20mm slivers. They said “tiles were poor quality”. I supplied Italian tiles.
Rodneyplace,They poured the alfresco slab too low, water flows back under the sliding door into the living room. The drain strip isn’t functioning. We need to sandbag when it rains. He offered to silicone the door shut.
Rodneyplace,The house settlement cracks are extreme. Internal brick walls have step cracks because they omitted articulation joints. The brickie said “it’s not needed”. The engineer says it is. Void warranty.
Rodneyplace,Supplied a termite management system but didn’t install the reticulation piping, just left the chemical drum unplumbed. Now no protection. When questioned, they said “pest guy’s job” but they engaged and charged me for it. Incompetent.
Rodneyplace,They scratched every single window when removing the protective film with a scraper. Thousands in damage. They said “the scratches were already there”. I have time‑stamped photos. Insulting.
Rodneyplace,The builder was never on site, his “leading hand” was a 19‑year‑old with no experience making decisions. Floor levels all over the place, doors trimmed wonky. It was the blind leading the blind.
Rodneyplace,Shoddy concrete block retaining wall with no rebar or core fill. Leaning badly. Blocks cracking. He said it’s only a small wall, doesn’t need engineering. It’s 1.8m high. Now needs demolition.
Rodneyplace,The bathroom exhaust fan vents directly into the roof eave with no duct, so moist air is drawn back into the roof space. Mould bloom within a year. He said “that’s standard”. Not to code.
Rodneyplace,The quote included "all necessary permits" but they never lodged the building permit. I found out when council knocked on the door with a stop work order. They said they’d “sort it”, then disappeared. Works are illegal.
Rodneyplace,The downpipes discharge onto the footpath causing a slip hazard, council issued a fine to me. I asked repeatedly to connect to stormwater, they ignored. Now I’m liable.
Rodneyplace,They demolished a structural wall thinking it wasn’t load‑bearing, without propping. The ceiling sagged, roof tiles cracked. Emergency shoring required. They said “whoops” and still wanted to be paid for the demo.
Rodneyplace,They demolished a structural wall thinking it wasn’t load‑bearing, without propping. The ceiling sagged, roof tiles cracked. Emergency shoring required. They said “whoops” and still wanted to be paid for the demo.
Rodneyplace,The balcony balustrade glass panels are loose, the spigots weren’t set deep enough into concrete. One panel cracked because of movement. The whole thing is a death trap. Builder says “not my problem, glazier’s fault”.
Rodneyplace,They used silicone instead of plumber’s putty on the sink strainer, it leaked and rotted the cupboard base. They also cross‑threaded the water connections causing slow leaks. Whole kitchen cabinetry swelled. Deny responsibility.
Rodneyplace,I can hear the neighbours’ conversations through the wall because there’s no acoustic insulation between the townhouses. They also installed single‑glazed windows on a busy road. No consideration of liveability.
Rodneyplace,The whole build was off‑grid, he promised solar passive design but oriented the living areas south. Cold and dark. He said the block dictated it, but he never explained during planning. Now we freeze.
Rodneyplace,The builder kept leaving the site unlocked; tools and materials were stolen. He accused us of not securing it when it was his responsibility. Insurance won’t cover. Lost thousands.
Rodneyplace,The deck is attached to the house with bugle screws into brick, no proper ledger board or flashing. Water is entering the wall. The handrail is fixed with a few screws into end grain, wobbles. Dangerous.
Rodneyplace,They painted the exterior in the rain, so the paint ran and had a streaky finish. It’s already peeling. They said they’d come back and redo, never did. House looks like a rundown shack.
Rodneyplace,The alfresco ceiling is lined with painted MDF that is swelling from moisture, nails popping. It’s an external covered area but not weatherproof—should be cement sheet. Builder said it’s “undercover, it’s fine”. Not when rain drives in.
Rodneyplace,I caught the painter spraying without masking, overspray all over the windows, door hardware, even the roof tiles. They then used a blade to scrape glass, scratching them. So many things ruined.
Rodneyplace,The cement render is cracking in a spiderweb pattern because they applied it too thick and no control joints. It sounds hollow. Inevitable that it will fall off. Refuses to rectify.
Rodneyplace,The site cut caused drainage to redirect under my slab, the whole subfloor is damp, musty smell. They didn’t install sub‑soil drainage. The building is slowly rotting. He blames the wet season.
Rodneyplace,The retaining wall blocks are just dry‑stacked with no reinforcement, already leaning. I can see the gap widening. He claimed it was an engineered system, couldn’t produce plans. Now leaning into the path.
Rodneyplace,The gas hot water unit was installed without a flue terminal, exhaust gases trapped under the house. Carbon monoxide risk. Detected by coincidence. He said “plumber forgot”. Criminal.
Rodneyplace,The builder stored all the gyprock in a pile on the slab, it got damp and mouldy before installation. They still hung it. Now mould behind paint. They just painted over it. Health hazard.
Rodneyplace,The new front fence has a gate that drags on the ground, can’t open fully. The post has moved because it wasn’t concreted deep enough. The latch doesn’t reach. They say “adjust it yourself”. Useless.
Rodneyplace,They used a nail gun to attach the decking boards without pre‑drilling, splitting the ends on almost every board. Looks terrible, splinters. When I pointed it out, they said “it’s standard”. Not to me.
Rodneyplace,The skylight leaked from day one. They came back to “reseat” it, now it leaks worse. The ceiling around it is stained and sagging. They want to just silicone again. I’m on round five.
Rodneyplace,The bathroom cabinets were installed before the floor tiles, so the plinth is buried. If I ever need to replace the vanity, the floor will be raw concrete. No foresight. They just don't think ahead.
Rodneyplace,The painting of the eaves was half‑done before a storm, now runs, drips, and patchiness. They just left it. I have a two‑tone eaves with roller marks. They said it’ll weather. Nonsense.
Rodneyplace,The shower mixer was installed so close to the door that you have to get in and then turn on the water, meaning you get blasted with cold water. Poor planning. They claim it’s where the pipes were. They did the rough‑in!

Rodneyplace,The roofer left off the ridge cap pointing, and a bird got into the roof and nested. Noise, droppings, mites. Builder said it’s a pest control issue. He created the opening!
Rodneyplace,The concrete path around the house has a trip edge because they poured against a form that shifted, leaving a 30mm lip. I tripped and injured my knee. They said I should watch where I’m walking. No responsibility.
Rodneyplace,The window flashings are missing above all windows, water runs behind the brickwork. The interior reveals are stained and mouldy. They said it’s “not needed with cavity”. But cavity is bridged. So wrong.
Rodneyplace,They fitted an undersized air conditioning unit that runs 24/7 and can’t cool the house. The sales guy promised a larger unit. The builder says “that’s what the contract says”. The contract was ambiguous, but they never clarified. Now stuck.
Rodneyplace,After the final payment, I found raw sewage leaking from a cracked pipe under the slab they must have damaged during pouring. The smell is appalling. They’ve washed their hands. I’m heartbroken.
Rodneyplace,The retaining wall they built started leaning within two months. No drainage gravel behind it, just backfilled with clay. Now it's pushing against the fence, and the council's issued a notice. They won't answer calls.
Rodneyplace,The paving is a mess. Sandstone crazy paving laid with 20mm lippage everywhere, trip hazards galore. Grouting is cracking because they used brickies sand straight onto dirt. They "forgot" the road base. Shambolic.
Rodneyplace,Had a simple turf job. They didn't level the soil, so the lawn is like a rollercoaster. Bare patches everywhere because they skimped on turf rolls and left gaps. Weeds took over instantly.
Rodneyplace,The landscaper quoted for drainage, charged me, then didn't install any. First decent rain, the backyard became a swamp and flooded my pergola. He claims it's "natural water flow". I'm out thousands.
Rodneyplace,The crew turned up hungover, smashed my side gate with the truck, and left rubbish everywhere. The stone edging is crooked, plants are planted at the wrong depth, and all the mulch has already washed away.
Rodneyplace,They promised a native cottage garden but planted invasive species, including running bamboo with no barrier. Now it's shooting up everywhere and heading for the neighbour's. They said it'll screen fast. Criminal negligence.
Rodneyplace,I wanted a fire pit area; they built it directly under a low overhanging tree. Sparks would set it alight. No concept of clearance. They also built the bench seat out of untreated pine that's already rotting.
Rodneyplace,The paving around the pool is sinking. They used 20mm of sand over uncompacted fill, no concrete edge restraint. Every time it rains, sand washes into the pool. The pavers wobble. Dangerous.
Rodneyplace,The guy took my deposit, demolished the existing garden, then went quiet for six weeks. Showed up randomly, did half a day's work, then demanded more money for materials. I sacked him. Now I've got a moonscape.
Rodneyplace,Installed fake turf directly over grass without removing it or putting down weed mat. Within weeks, the old grass rotted, stank, and the fake lawn is lumpy with weeds poking through the seams. Dreadful.
Rodneyplace,They were supposed to build planter boxes with hardwood sleepers. Used treated pine offcuts, not even screwed properly, bowing after the first watering. The "garden lighting" is just solar $2 shop stakes. Charged premium prices.
Rodneyplace,The bobcat driver took out a section of the sewer pipe and didn't tell anyone. We only found out when sewage started surfacing in the new garden bed. They denied it and blamed the old pipes. Repair cost us $8k.
Rodneyplace,They spray-painted lines for the garden beds and paving, completely ignoring the plan I signed off on. The curves are jagged, measurements off by metres. When I complained, they said "close enough". It's not.
Rodneyplace,The poured concrete path has no expansion joints, cracked within a week. The colour is patchy grey and white. They also splashed concrete onto the new fence. Clean-up was non-existent. Unprofessional.
Rodneyplace,They carved out a "dry creek bed" that looks like a trench dug by a child. The river rocks are sparse, mud everywhere. It funnels water directly into the neighbour's property. Facing a dispute now because of their incompetence.
Rodneyplace,The waterfall feature leaks behind the rocks, pump is undersized and already burned out. The pond liner is visible and wasn't edged properly. Mosquito farm. They said "it'll settle". It's a health hazard.
Rodneyplace,The landscaper talked us into a large decorative pond. It has no filtration, just a stagnant pool. Frogs died, algae blooms, smell is vile. He said "nature will balance it". It's a toxic swamp.
Rodneyplace,They left soil piles blocking my driveway for three weeks. Site wasn't secure, my dog escaped twice. The finished "landscaping" is a few straggly plants in a sea of cheap red bark that's blown everywhere.
Rodneyplace,I asked for low-maintenance succulents; they planted water-thirsty annuals that bolted in a week. The irrigation timer was set to water twice a day, drowning everything. Root rot everywhere. No plant knowledge at all.
Rodneyplace,The side gate they installed drags on the ground, the latch doesn't line up. The concrete path slopes towards the house, so water pools at the foundation. They said it's to code—it's not. I'm getting damp readings inside now.
Rodneyplace,They removed a beautiful established lemon tree without my permission, claimed it was "in the way" of a path that wasn't even on the plan. Devastated. No apology, no compensation. Just said it was a weed tree.
Rodneyplace,The irrigation system is a joke. Sprinklers spray the fence, the driveway, even the street. Coverage misses half the lawn. Pipes are exposed, trip hazard. When I questioned, he said I can "adjust them manually". Useless.
Rodneyplace,The crew hot-mixed concrete in my driveway and left a huge stain. They spilled diesel, killed a patch of my existing lawn. No site toilet, they used my outdoor shower area. Absolutely feral behaviour.
Rodneyplace,The terrace garden beds they built on a slope have no retaining at all. After rain, the soil just slumps down onto the lawn below, burying the grass and exposing plant roots. Amateur hour.
Rodneyplace,The guy just didn't show up for half the scheduled days. A four-week job took five months. He kept blaming weather, suppliers, his ute. I had to get another crew to finish the planting. He then demanded full payment.
Rodneyplace,They installed garden lighting cable just under the mulch, not in conduit. I cut it with a hand trowel and got a shock. No safety switch. I'm lucky to be alive. Electrician condemned the whole setup.
Rodneyplace,The new turf was laid with gaps you could fit a finger in, on a base full of builder's rubble. It dried out instantly because they didn't do the first deep soak. It's 60% dead. They said "it'll fill in". No, it won't.
Rodneyplace,They promised a "Japanese-inspired zen garden". Delivered a few pebbles, a concrete Buddha from Bunnings, and a bamboo screen that fell over in the first wind. The raked gravel is over dirt, now full of weeds. Absolute con.
Rodneyplace,The excavation for the patio cut into tree roots of a protected gum. The tree is now dying, and council is investigating me for illegal damage. The landscaper is nowhere to be seen.
Rodneyplace,They used weed mat that's already disintegrated, so weeds are rampant. The edging is plastic and has popped out of the ground. Plants are not even in straight rows. I'm so embarrassed by my front yard.
Rodneyplace,Booked an end‑of‑lease clean. They completely missed the oven, the skirting boards were still dusty, and there was a dead cockroach left on the bathroom floor. The real estate refused to release my bond. No reply to calls.
Rodneyplace,The crew arrived two hours late, reeking of cigarettes. They wiped the kitchen benches with a dry rag—no spray, no disinfectant. Cobwebs still in every corner. I had to reclean the entire house after they left.
Rodneyplace,They quoted a deep clean but did a surface wipe‑down at best. The shower screen still has soap scum, the rangehood is dripping grease, and they used my white face cloths to clean the toilet. Disgusting.
Rodneyplace,Paid for a full house clean including inside windows. They "cleaned" them with a dirty mop and left streaks worse than before. Water marks all over the glass. When I pointed it out, they argued and left in a huff.
Rodneyplace,The cleaner cancelled on me three times in a row, each time last minute. Finally turned up on a Sunday without notice when I was away, let herself in with the lockbox, and did a fifteen‑minute wipe‑down. Billed me for four hours.
Rodneyplace,Carpets look worse after the steam clean. They left them sopping wet, dirty water marks wicking back up. Now they smell musty. The machine was clearly broken. Won't answer messages.
Rodneyplace,Bond clean was a joke. Oven door wasn't touched inside, rangehood filters still caked, and there's a thick layer of dust on the light fittings. Lost my bond. They offered a "free re‑clean" but never showed.
Rodneyplace,I asked for eco‑friendly products, they used bleach and the strongest ammonia smell imaginable. My asthmatic child had an attack. They denied using anything harsh, but the empty bottles were in my bin.
Rodneyplace,The team broke a crystal vase and tried to hide it by putting the pieces under the couch. I only found out when I moved furniture. They denied all knowledge. Trust completely shattered.
Rodneyplace,Regular weekly clean turned into a nightmare. They'd skip vacuuming under the rug, never empty the bathroom bins, and the kitchen floor was always sticky. Cameras showed them sitting on my couch on the phone for 40 minutes.
Rodneyplace,They quoted $180 for a full three‑bedroom clean, then demanded $400 when finished, claiming it was dirtier than expected. The house wasn't even that bad—it's extortion. They wouldn't leave until I paid.
Rodneyplace,The cleaning company sent a different person each week with no handover. Every time I had to re‑explain everything. The last one "cleaned" my wooden dining table with a wet cloth and now it has a white ring.
Rodneyplace,Booked a window clean. They used a pressure washer on the second storey, water flooded into the wall cavity because the weep holes were blocked. Now I have internal water damage and a blooming mould issue.
Rodneyplace,They scratched every induction cooktop surface using a scouring pad. The glass is ruined. They said "it was already scratched". I have time‑stamped photos from that morning. Zero accountability.
Rodneyplace,Office cleaning is abysmal. Bins not emptied, hand soap never refilled, and the vacuuming is a two‑second rush job. They claim they clean five days a week, but the rubbish says otherwise. Cancelling the contract.
Rodneyplace,The excavation for the patio cut into tree roots of a protected gum. The tree is now dying, and council is investigating me for illegal damage. The landscaper is nowhere to be seen.
Rodneyplace,Cleaner used steel wool on my bathroom tapware, scratching the chrome finish. The glass shower door is smeared so badly it looks frosted. She blamed poor water pressure for the streaky finish.
Rodneyplace,Oven clean was a disaster. They said the door doesn't need to come off, just spray and wipe. It still stinks of burnt chemicals, and the glass is fogged between the panes because they used oven cleaner inside the door cavity.
Rodneyplace,After the clean I found bleach splashes on a brand new $3000 rug, a ruined orange patch. They said it was there before. My before photos prove it wasn't. They refuse to compensate.
Rodneyplace,The "move‑in clean" left thick construction dust still on the window tracks, the bathrooms unsanitary, and a filthy garage floor. I had to hire someone else to do it all again. A total waste of money.
Rodneyplace,The cleaner brought her toddler to my house without asking. The kid was running around, drawing on the wall with a texta while she cleaned. I had to ask them to leave. Completely unprofessional.
Rodneyplace,They were supposed to clean the air conditioner filters as part of a package. Just wiped the outside cover and left. I checked the filters myself—caked in dust. They said it's a "specialist job". Then don't offer it.
Rodneyplace,I suspect they used the same cloth for the toilet and the kitchen sink. The place smelled like a public urinal after they left. I re‑sanitised every surface. Nausea‑inducing.
Rodneyplace,Paid a premium for "end‑of‑lease guarantee". It failed twice. The real estate identified 15 items the second time, including a dirty dishwasher filter and mould on the balcony door track. They refused a third re‑clean.
Rodneyplace,They sent one person for a job that clearly needed two. She worked for five hours, exhausted, and still didn't finish. Poor planning by the company. The ensuite was untouched, and I had to pay anyway.
Rodneyplace,The cleaner put my wooden chopping boards in the dishwasher, they split. She also used a bleach spray on the granite benchtops, which has left permanent etching. I'm devastated.
Rodneyplace,They didn't bring any equipment, just used my vacuum and mop. When the vacuum bag filled, they didn't replace it. Left the old bag on my kitchen bench. They then charged me a "supplies fee".
Rodneyplace,The exterior window clean resulted in water pouring down the internal walls because they didn't check the seals. Paint is bubbling now. They're ignoring liability. I'm left with a huge repair bill.
Rodneyplace,I caught the cleaner on camera going through my bedroom drawers. I'd only booked kitchen and bathrooms. She denied it until I showed footage. Police involved. Horrifying invasion of privacy.
Rodneyplace,They forgot to clean under the master bed, left visible dust bunnies and a forgotten sock. The ceiling fan was still dusty. I had to point out every missed spot, and they rolled their eyes. Lazy service.
Rodneyplace,The clean was okay but they charged my card for an extra $150 two days later without authorisation. I disputed it with the bank, and they sent me a threatening invoice. Shonky billing.
Rodneyplace,They used a pressure washer on my wooden deck despite my instructions, lifting the oil finish and splintering the timber. "We do it for everyone" was the excuse. Now I need to re‑sand and oil.
Rodneyplace,The cleaning team turned up at 7am on a Saturday despite booking for 10am. They woke my baby, rushed through the job noisily in an hour, and left. The house was still dusty. Utterly disrespectful.
Rodneyplace,They mopped with so much water the floorboards were saturated. A week later, cupping and swelling. They said it's "not their problem". The floor is ruined in the hallway. Legal action pending.
Rodneyplace,The "commercial kitchen clean" was a joke. The grease trap lid wasn't even removed, the rangehood filters are still sticky. They left a bucket of dirty water in the corner. Health inspector would have a field day.
Rodneyplace,Booked a recurring fortnightly clean. They'd no‑show every third appointment, then double up the next week trying to charge for both missed and done. Invoicing chaos. Cancelled after two months of stress.
Rodneyplace,They used my personal toiletries to "clean"—my expensive face washer, my shampoo to scrub the shower. I was horrified. It's as if they have no concept of boundaries or professionalism.
Rodneyplace,Called them for a burst pipe on a Sunday. Said they’d be there within the hour. Three hours later nothing. When they finally arrived, the “emergency” plumber was just a kid with a shift wrench who made the leak worse. $900 call‑out fee for nothing.
Rodneyplace,The tap washer replacement they did has left the tap handle spinning. Now water drips faster than before. They also scratched the basin with their wrench and denied it. I was charged premium rates for a ten‑minute job that now needs redoing.
Rodneyplace,Rerouted some copper pipe for the new bathroom. Every join weeps. They used compression fittings where they should have soldered, and the pipework rattles loudly whenever the washing machine runs. Won’t answer my calls to fix it.
Rodneyplace,They installed a new toilet suite but didn’t seat the pan properly, so sewer smell constantly leaks into the bathroom. The cistern also rocks against the wall. They blamed the tiler, but the tiler wasn’t even there yet.
Rodneyplace,The plumber arrived without any parts, spent an hour going back and forth to Reece, billing me for travel time. The final invoice was double the quote, full of “miscellaneous” charges. Blocked stormwater still blocks up every time it rains.
Rodneyplace,They used a cheap flexible connector on the hot water unit that burst within a month, flooding the laundry. Water damaged the cabinets. They refused to take responsibility, saying “the part must have been faulty”. It was their part.
Rodneyplace,Booked a gas leak repair. They arrived, sniffed around, tightened a nut, and left. Gas smell returned that night. I called another plumber who found the pipe was cracked and needed replacing. This mob missed a dangerous leak.
Rodneyplace,Cleared a kitchen sink blockage but left a filthy mess of grease and sludge all over the cupboard floor. The drain was slow again within a week. Second call‑out charged full price. They just rodded it without finding the real problem.
Rodneyplace,The shower they roughed‑in is off‑centre, so the shower screen couldn't be installed as planned. They also put the mixer at chest height for a six‑foot person—I’m 5’3”. They refused to move it without a variation fee.
Rodneyplace,Taps were reversed hot and cold on the new vanity. The cartridge blew within days because they didn't flush the lines after cutting pipe, swarf jammed it. They said it’s “normal” for new installs. It’s not normal to shower in scalding water.
Rodneyplace,The plumber used a hammer to force a pipe through a stud, splitting the timber. Structural issue now. The pipe bangs every time water runs. He also left a cigarette butt in the wall cavity. Lazy, dangerous work.
Rodneyplace,Leaking toilet fixed for $350. Two days later, leak returned. He came back, blamed the pan collar, charged another $280. Leak returned again. I pulled the toilet up myself—the rubber seal was folded over. Simple incompetence.
Rodneyplace,They soldered a joint with water still in the line, so the solder didn't take. It held for about a week before the ceiling below got a massive water stain. They'd already been fully paid. No warranty honour.
Rodneyplace,The "hot water specialist" replaced a thermocouple but didn't check the gas pressure. The unit kept going out. Four visits later, I got an independent gasfitter who found the gas regulator was faulty. This bloke just kept changing parts at my expense.
Rodneyplace,They installed a new bath without connecting the overflow properly. First bath for the kids, water cascaded through the kitchen ceiling. They said the overflow connection must have slipped off. It was never glued. Disastrous.
Rodneyplace,The sewer pipe replacement was botched. They didn't bed the pipe properly, now there's a belly holding water. The inspection camera shows ponding. They claim it's “within grade tolerance”. The smell says otherwise.
Rodneyplace,Turned the water off at the mains to change a kitchen mixer, then couldn’t get the old stop valve to reopen. Had to call council to turn it off at the street. I was without water for two days and they charged me for their time.
Rodneyplace,The quote was cheap to win the job, then the invoice was triple. They claimed the pipes were in worse condition than expected. No mention of hourly rate increase. I refused to pay the extra and they threatened a debt collector.
Rodneyplace,Used a jetter on my terracotta sewer line without a camera first, blew a hole through a corroded section. Raw sewage seeped out under the lawn. They said the pipe must have already been broken. Now a $12k dig‑up.
Rodneyplace,Booked a specific day for a gas cooktop install. Didn't show, didn't call. Rearranged, same thing. Third time they showed up with the wrong model's gas injectors. I took the day off work each time. Zero courtesy.
Rodneyplace,They left the laundry sink drain disconnected after clearing a blockage, just pushed the pipe together without a nut. First load of washing, water all over the floor. Cupboard base swollen. They said it was "like that when we left".
Rodneyplace,They ran a gas line across the middle of the ceiling in the garage, right where the roller door track needed extra clearance. The door ripped the copper pipe off on its first cycle. Gas leak. Emergency evacuation. Incompetent routing.
Rodneyplace,I paid for a full rough‑in of the ensuite. They forgot the toilet waste entirely, tiler had already screeded. They had to jackhammer the slab, causing cracks. Now the waterproofing is compromised. The blame game started immediately.
Rodneyplace,Apprentice did all the work while the boss sat in the ute on his phone. He cross‑threaded the shower arm, it shot off mid‑shower, flooding the bathroom. The boss said I must have “bumped it”. They charge tradesman rates for apprentice skills.
Rodneyplace,I had a tap that wouldn't turn off. He whacked the spindle with a hammer, broke the whole bonnet assembly, water spraying everywhere. He then charged me for an emergency isolation and a new tap. I paid for him to destroy my tap.
Rodneyplace,The new dishwasher connection leaked because he didn't use the right olive. The slow drip went behind the cabinetry for weeks before I smelled the mould. Now the kickboard is warped and the plaster is rotten. His response: “should have had a plumber check it”.
Rodneyplace,They were meant to relocate a gas point. Instead of running a new branch inside the wall, they surface‑mounted copper pipe on the outside of the gyprock. Ugly as sin. Said it was “the only way”. Another plumber laughed and fixed it in an hour.
Rodneyplace,The noise from the new pipes is insane. Water hammer every time a tap closes. They didn't install arrestors or clip the pipes properly. I'm told the pipes are vibrating in the wall. They said “live with it, or pay for re‑pipe”.
Rodneyplace,I asked them to clear a blocked gully. They shoved a hose down and just pushed the blockage further into the main, blocking the entire house drainage. Toilets backed up. They then charged me a full sewer dig‑out price. Rogue.
Rodneyplace,The plumber cut a 150mm hole in the wrong wall looking for pipework, then just left it. He said the plans were wrong. The plans were right, he measured from the wrong corner. I now have a hole in my hallway and no fix.
Rodneyplace,They bragged about being "green plumbers" but left the old gas heater on the nature strip without arranging council pickup. Old copper offcuts tossed in the garden bed. No environmental care at all.
Rodneyplace,The frost‑free tap they installed outside splits every winter. I've replaced it twice now. Turns out it wasn't graded correctly and water sits inside freezing. They blamed my choice of tap. It was their recommendation.
Rodneyplace,The plumber attended a simple dripping shower but overtightened the spindle nut, stripping the thread. The whole in‑wall valve needed replacement. He then quoted an extra $800 to break the wall open. All from a drip.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber they sent for a leak clean‑up walked on the tiles and cracked half a dozen. Didn't say anything until the next rain when the ceiling collapsed. They said "tiles were fragile". They were perfect condition terracotta.
Rodneyplace,Water filter under the sink plumbed with a kinked flexible hose that reduced flow to a trickle. They said “that’s just the filter pressure drop”. The filter was installed backwards. I had to get the manufacturer out to confirm.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration they did looked great for three months, then the paint started peeling off in sheets. Water is pouring through the old tile cracks they were supposed to seal. They blamed the paint manufacturer and vanished.
Rodneyplace,They replaced the guttering but pitched it the wrong way. Now water overflows at the corners and floods the front door every time it rains. The downpipes are completely dry. Won't come back without a call-out fee.
Rodneyplace,Hired them to fix a leak. They smeared silicone over the cracked tile and called it repaired. Next storm, the ceiling collapsed. I paid for a proper repair, got a five-minute bodge job.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber installed the new box gutter without a proper fall. Ponding water everywhere, already rusting. He said "it'll drain eventually". It doesn't. Now there's water dripping inside the eaves.
Rodneyplace,Re-roofing job went for six months instead of six weeks. The crew would show up once a fortnight, do a few hours, then disappear. Tarps blew off twice, water damage to the upstairs rooms. Unbelievable.
Rodneyplace,They quoted for Colourbond replacement, installed cheap zincalume seconds from a scrap yard. It's already rusting at the cut edges. The roof looks patchy and ugly. They pocketed the difference.
Rodneyplace,The ridge capping was re-bedded and pointed, but they used standard mortar that cracked within weeks. Now the ridge tiles are loose, sliding down in the wind. Dangerous. He said it's "normal movement".
Rodneyplace,Skylight installation was a disaster. They cut the hole too big, just filled the gap with foam and silicone. Leaks every time it rains. The plaster around it is stained and sagging.
Rodneyplace,They pressure-washed the roof tiles, stripping off the protective coating. Now the tiles are porous and growing moss worse than before. They upsold me a sealant that hasn't stopped it.
Rodneyplace,The chimney flashing they replaced still leaks. They've been back four times, each time adding more silicone. The ceiling stain is now mouldy. I've given up and hired another roofer.
Rodneyplace,The quote was cheap, but the quality was abysmal. Whirlybird installed off-centre, roof sheets overlapping the wrong way, and screws over-tightened breaking the washers. The whole roof needs re-screwing.
Rodneyplace,The roof tilers started the job and left a massive section uncovered before a storm. Water ruined the new plasterboard ceiling. They said it's an act of God. No, it's an act of stupidity.
Rodneyplace,Metal roof painting: they didn't prime the surface, just sprayed over rust. Paint now bubbling with rust spots everywhere. Looks like a leopard. $12k wasted.
Rodneyplace,They walked all over my newly laid concrete tiles and cracked at least 20 of them. They denied it, said they were already cracked. I have before photos. No compensation.
Rodneyplace,The valley irons were installed without turn-ups, so water just cascades over the side in heavy rain, pouring into the eaves. They said "that's how they do it". It's not compliant.
Rodneyplace,I needed a simple gutter clean. They broke a tile getting onto the roof, didn't tell me, and left a gaping hole. Found out during the next storm with water running down the bedroom wall.
Rodneyplace,They installed a solar panel mounting system that punctured the tile in multiple places. Every penetration leaks. They've been out three times to "reseal", still leaking. Ceiling is now a patchwork of stains.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration company door-knocked, pressured me into a deal. They half-done the job, took my deposit, then went into liquidation. Another crew says the work is substandard and needs redoing.
Rodneyplace,They replaced the whirlybird but didn't flash it properly. The first rain saw water streaming down the inside of the flue. Now the laundry ceiling has a massive brown stain. They don't answer.
Rodneyplace,The fascia cover they installed wasn't scribed to the brickwork, huge gaps where birds are now nesting. They said "that's standard". The bird noise and droppings are a health issue.
Rodneyplace,They painted the roof without cleaning it first, dirt and moss encapsulated under the paint. It's peeling in sheets within a year. They claim I didn't maintain it. The warranty is worthless.
Rodneyplace,The new metal roof was installed with incorrect screw spacing. The sheeting rattles and lifts in every gust. I can't sleep during windy nights. They said it meets code, but it doesn't sound like it.
Rodneyplace,The roofer left a lunchbox full of rotting food in my ceiling cavity. The smell was horrific, took weeks to figure out where it was coming from. Maggots dropped through the downlight. Disgusting.
Rodneyplace,They installed the new gutters with the brackets too far apart. They sag between brackets, holding water. Now the gutters are rusting from the inside out. They blame the gutter material, not their work.
Rodneyplace,The roof tilers smashed the old tiles during removal and left the broken pieces in the garden. My dog cut his paw. They also broke two fence palings with the scaffold. Site was a war zone.
Rodneyplace,They charged me for new lead flashings, but just reused the old ones, smeared with grey paint. They're already splitting and leaking. Fraudulent.
Rodneyplace,They installed a roof vent for the rangehood without cutting the sarking, so steam just condenses and drips back down. The kitchen ceiling is now mouldy. They said it's "normal condensation".
Rodneyplace,The re-roofing crew left the old tiles in a skip blocking my driveway for three weeks. Council fined me. The roofer said he'd arranged removal but never did. I had to pay for the skip to be taken.
Rodneyplace,I paid for a full roof inspection and report. They spent ten minutes, took photos from the ground, and said everything was fine. Next storm, leaks everywhere. The report was a template with generic ticks.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber fitted a rainwater head too small for the downpipe. When it pours, water shoots over the top and runs down the wall. He said it's "standard size". It's clearly undersized.
Rodneyplace,They re-pointed the verge with mortar, didn't use flexible pointing. First hot day, cracked. Pieces falling off. They said "it's not structural". It's supposed to be weatherproof.
Rodneyplace,The roof replacement was done with the wrong profile tiles, they don't interlock properly. You can see daylight through the gaps. Birds are getting in. They said "it's the only tile we could source". Not my problem.
Rodneyplace,The ridge pointing was done with a sand and cement mix that washed out after a few heavy rains. Now bare ridges, and the bedding is crumbling. They've vanished.
Rodneyplace,They installed a solar attic fan that doesn't work, just a passive vent sold as an active system. I paid for a powered fan. When challenged, they said "it's solar, it needs sun". It's in full sun and doesn't spin.
Rodneyplace,The roofer left a hole in the sarking after a repair, said it's not needed. Now the ceiling insulation is damp and mouldy because moisture comes up from the roof space. They don't understand building physics.
Rodneyplace,They left the roof with missing screws in the new sheeting. Wind got under it and peeled back a whole section. Insurance won't cover poor workmanship. They blame the wind, not their missing screws.
Rodneyplace,The roofer arrived without safety gear, no harness, no scaffolding. I asked him to stop but he refused. If he fell, I'd be liable. I had to call the company and demand a different crew.
Rodneyplace,The valley replacement was a botch. They used two pieces joined with a lap, water runs straight under the join and into the ceiling. They said it's "standard practice". It's a standard leak.
Rodneyplace,I found empty alcohol bottles in the gutter after they'd "finished". The flashing work is uneven and the caulking is sloppy. Looks like it was done by someone under the influence.
Rodneyplace,They were supposed to replace the entire roof but only replaced the damaged section, leaving the old brittle tiles elsewhere. Now I have a patchwork roof and the old tiles keep breaking.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumbing for the new extension didn't connect to the existing downpipe properly. It just spills onto the ground, undermining the slab. They said the plumber would fix it, never did.
Rodneyplace,The roof inspection missed a major termite damage area in the fascia. The pest inspector found it later. The roofer said "termites aren't our specialty". They should have seen the hollow timber.
Rodneyplace,They reinstalled the solar panels after re-roofing but didn't connect the cables properly. The system now arcs and trips. The solar company blames the roofer, roofer blames the solar company. I'm stuck in the middle.
Rodneyplace,The roofer quoted a full replacement but just laid new metal over the old rusted sheeting without removing it. Now the rust has bled through, staining the new roof. No building permit, illegal.
Rodneyplace,The gutter guard they installed blocks water more than leaves. Rain just sheets over the edge. They sold it as "maintenance free". I now have to climb up and clear the guard itself. Useless.
Rodneyplace,They removed the old asbestos roof but didn't follow proper safety protocols. Dust everywhere. Neighbours reported them to Worksafe. I had to pay for air monitoring and decontamination.
Rodneyplace,The roof replacement took so long the exposed underlay degraded from UV. They didn't tarp at night. The sarking is now ripped and brittle. They said it's fine to tile over. Not fine.
Rodneyplace,The roofer used bright zinc screws on a coloured roof, they look like pimples. Ruined the aesthetic. They said "it's what we had in the van". I paid for colour-matched fasteners.
Rodneyplace,The flashing around the chimney is so poorly cut, there are 20mm gaps filled with silicone. It's already peeling away. Leak central. They won't return because the warranty period "expired" after 90 days.
Rodneyplace,The roof tiles were re-bedded but they used a weak mix that's already crumbling into the gutter. The ridge is loose. I can hear it grinding when the wind blows. Terrifying.
Rodneyplace,They installed the new gutters with the slots facing outward on the hidden hangers, so the gutter is barely attached. One section fell off during a storm. They said "the wind was exceptional".
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration price was bait. They found "unexpected damage" and doubled the price. I refused, they walked off leaving a half-painted roof with exposed patches. Now I have a striped roof.
Rodneyplace,The roof sheeting was stepped incorrectly, with the overlap facing the prevailing wind. Every storm drives water up and under. Ceiling is now patchy with water stains. They won't accept liability.
Rodneyplace,They dropped a roll of sarking from the roof, it hit my car and dented the bonnet. They denied it was theirs. My neighbour's CCTV caught it. Still waiting for repair payment six months on.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber installed the box gutter with the overflow too high. Water backed up and flooded the eaves lining. Soaked insulation, mould smell. He said "overflow is optional". Not by code it isn't.
Rodneyplace,The roofer did a patch job on a tile roof, mixing new tiles with old. They didn't match the profile, so water tracks sideways. He said "you can't get that tile anymore" but I sourced them in five minutes online.
Rodneyplace,They installed a skylight in a flat roof with no curb, just a flush panel. The sealant has failed, now it's a waterfall inside. They said "flat roofs always leak". Not if installed correctly.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration company promised a 10-year warranty. Two years later, leaks, peeling paint, and they've changed their business name. Same director, new ABN. Warranty dodgers.
Rodneyplace,They left the old roof debris on the verge for council pickup but it was too heavy, council refused. I had to hire a skip. They said it's my rubbish. It's their demolition waste.
Rodneyplace,The new colourbond roof has scratches all over from the installers dragging sheets across each other. They said "it'll weather". It's been a year and it looks worse. A $20k roof ruined.
Rodneyplace,The roofer installed a new chimney cap that's too small, wind blows rain straight in. The fireplace fills with water. He said "it's standard size". Standard for what, a dolls house?
Rodneyplace,They replaced the ridge pointing but didn't remove the old cracked mortar. New mortar over old, now both falling off in chunks. They took a shortcut and it shows.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber connected the stormwater downpipe to the sewer vent. Now when it rains, the toilets gurgle and overflow. Illegal. They're saying "it was like that before". It wasn't.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration crew used a high-pressure cleaner that blew water up under the tiles, soaking the insulation and plasterboard. The ceiling sagged. They said "it'll dry out". It didn't, it grew mould.
Rodneyplace,They re-screwed the roof but missed half the battens. Sheets are still loose. The noise in the wind is worse. They claim they did the whole roof. I have drone footage showing missed rows.
Rodneyplace,The replacement roof was installed with no anti-condensation blanket. Water drips from the underside of the tin every morning. The shed is a rainforest. They said "it's not required for a shed". It is if you store things.
Rodneyplace,The roof tilers dropped mortar down the cavity between the leaves of the brick wall, bridging the damp course. Rising damp now visible inside. They said "it's just a bit of mortar".
Rodneyplace,They installed a box gutter with the sump on the high side, not the low point. Water just sits there. The gutter is rusting through. They said the roofer would fix, roofer said the plumber. No one does.
Rodneyplace,They replaced a few broken tiles but stepped on others and broke them. Now I have more broken tiles than before. They said "they were already weak". They were fine.
Rodneyplace,The roofer gave me a certificate of completion, but the council inspection failed. The sarking doesn't comply with bushfire requirements. They used the wrong classification. Now I need a full resheet.
Rodneyplace,The gutter replacement left sharp swarf all over the patio. I cut my hand cleaning up. They didn't run a magnet. Lazy and dangerous.
Rodneyplace,The roof vent they installed is non-compliant for the gas heater, wrong flue type. Carbon monoxide risk. Plumber condemned it. Roofer says "not my job to know".
Rodneyplace,They charged for a full repointing but only did the front of the house facing the street. The back ridge is still cracked and leaking. When I asked, they said "you only asked for visible areas". Deceitful.
Rodneyplace,The roof replacement sheeting was stored on the lawn and killed the grass. Brown rectangles everywhere. They said "grass grows back". Not without returfing.
Rodneyplace,The roofer removed the old satellite dish but didn't seal the penetrations. Four screw holes, four leaks. He said "I thought you wanted it removed". Yes, and sealed!
Rodneyplace,The new flashing is so poorly dressed, it looks like it was beaten with a hammer. Water runs behind it. They've been back twice, each time it looks messier.
Rodneyplace,The roof tilers broke the neighbours' TV antenna and just left it hanging. Neighbour is furious. They said "it was already loose". It wasn't, and they're liable for damage.
Rodneyplace,The metal roof has no bird stop at the eaves. Birds are nesting in the roof space, mites are coming into the house. They said "birds will get in anyway". Not if properly sealed.
Rodneyplace,The re-roofing crew used a crane that cracked my driveway. The concrete is now breaking up. They said "it's not our crane's fault, driveways crack". The crane was well over weight limit.
Rodneyplace,The skylight shaft wasn't insulated. Cold air pours down in winter, it's a condensation nightmare. They said it's "just an opening". An opening to the antarctic.
Rodneyplace,They installed the downpipe over the neighbour's boundary, now I have a legal dispute. They said "it's the only place for it". The plans clearly showed it on my side.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration company promised to clean up all debris. They left old tiles stacked against the fence, which fell over in the wind and damaged my garden. Still there.
Rodneyplace,They used clear silicone to patch a leak, which has now turned yellow and mouldy. The leak persists, now the mould has spread to the interior. They say "silicone is a permanent fix". Not when it's just smeared on.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber didn't clip the downpipe to the wall. It blew off in a storm and took the neighbour's window with it. Who pays? Not them.
Rodneyplace,They did a roof inspection and said I needed a full replacement when only a few tiles were cracked. Got a second opinion, roof has 10 years left. They were just drumming up work.
Rodneyplace,The roofer replaced the valley with a non-matching colour and left the old iron underneath. It's rusting and staining the new valley. Looks terrible. They said "it's out of sight". It's in clear view.
Rodneyplace,The tile roof was painted with a sealer that is now peeling and clogging the gutters with paint chips. The downpipes are blocked. They said "it's normal wear and tear". After 18 months?
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration team left the roof tiles in the skip but mixed with general rubbish. The skip company charged me extra for non-separated waste. They should have used a clean fill skip.
Rodneyplace,The flashing installation at the wall was done without a reglet cut into the mortar. Just surface sealed with silicone. Water is now going straight into the wall. They said "the silicone is enough". It's not.
Rodneyplace,The roofer turned up, looked at the leak from the ground, said he needed a cherry picker and would quote. Never returned. I've called 15 times. Job's not big enough for them.
Rodneyplace,The metal roofing sheets were cut on site with an angle grinder, hot swarf embedded in the paint, now rust spots everywhere. They should have used a shear. They said "it's how we always do it".
Rodneyplace,The new fascia and eaves lining has gaps where birds and wasps are nesting. They said "that's the carpenter's job". But they quoted for the whole fascia replacement.
Rodneyplace,The roofers left the site with a pile of sand and cement right over the stormwater drain grate. Flooded the backyard. They said "that's the brickie's mess". There were no brickies.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber installed a new sump but didn't seal it. Water leaks around the outside. The ceiling is stained again. They said "it's condensation". It's not, there's a visible gap.
Rodneyplace,The whirlybird they installed howls like a banshee at the slightest breeze. They said it's a "high performance vent". It's a cheap bearing already failing.
Rodneyplace,The roof repaint was done with a spray that drifted onto the neighbour's car. Thousands in damage. They denied it was them. The wind direction that day proves it.
Rodneyplace,They replaced the gable flashing but used a different colour and didn't scribe it to the shingle. Gaps filled with foam that's now rotting. It's an ugly mess.
Rodneyplace,The roofer sold me on a "cool roof" coating. The house is now hotter than before because it's dark grey and absorbs heat. He said "it reflects heat" but it's the wrong colour for that claim.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber installed a rainwater head with the overflow pipe pointing upwards, so water can't escape. Backflows into the eaves. He said "that's the design". No, it's upside down.
Rodneyplace,The roof tile repair was done with mismatched tiles that are a different thickness, creating a ridge that catches leaves and water. They said "they were the closest match". A blind match.
Rodneyplace,The roof replacement was done with the wrong pitch screws, they've punctured through the ribs and into the roof space. Water follows the screws down. Every screw hole leaks.
Rodneyplace,They re-bedded the ridge but didn't put weepholes in the pointing. Water trapped behind the ridge freezes and cracks the pointing. They said "we don't do weepholes". Then they don't do proper work.
Rodneyplace,The roof tilers removed old sarking and didn't replace it. Now dust and wind blow directly into the roof space. The ceiling is full of grit. They said "sarking is optional". Not for dust it isn't.
Rodneyplace,The roofer quoted a complete gutter replacement, but just replaced the most visible section and patched the rest with mastic. The patches now leak. I paid for a full job.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration included "all new flashings". They just painted the old ones. Rust is now bleeding through the paint. They said "it's a restoration, not replacement". They charged for new flashings.
Rodneyplace,They left the roof tie-downs loose, straps not nailed into the rafters. In a storm the roof lifted. I'm lucky the whole thing didn't go. They said "it's standard practice to leave them loose". No it's not.
Rodneyplace,The skylight installation left a gap between the ceiling frame and the shaft. Air pours in, the room is freezing. They said "carpenter will fix that". They subcontracted the skylight and washed their hands.
Rodneyplace,The metal roof was installed with the sheets ending 10mm short of the gutter, so water drips behind it and rots the fascia. They said "it's within tolerance". 10mm gap is a waterfall.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber used a rubber boot on the vent pipe that's already perished and cracking. Water is running down the pipe into the ceiling. He said "rubber boots need replacing annually". Not after two months.
Rodneyplace,The new roof was installed without any expansion joints. The first hot day, buckling and oil canning. They said "it'll settle". It won't, it's permanently deformed.
Rodneyplace,The roof inspection report said the valley was fine. It was completely rusted through. I found out when the ceiling fell in. The inspector must have never actually gone into the roof cavity.
Rodneyplace,They took the old roof tiles away but left the broken ones scattered in the garden beds. I'm still finding them with the mower, they're projectiles. Lazy clean-up.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration paint colour was supposed to be terracotta. It's bright orange. They said "it'll fade". It's been two years and it's still a beacon.
Rodneyplace,The gutter guard they fitted is already sagging because they didn't put enough clips. Birds are getting under it and nesting. They said "it's guaranteed 10 years". The clips lasted 10 weeks.
Rodneyplace,The re-roofing crew damaged the overhead power line with their crane. Power cut for the whole street. They said "it wasn't marked". It's clearly visible. Energex was not happy.
Rodneyplace,The roof tiles they supplied are seconds, with cracks and chips already visible. They said "they're acceptable by Australian standards". They look like rejects from the reject pile.
Rodneyplace,The new flashing at the wall isn't stepped, it's a straight piece with water running behind. The brickwork is saturated. They said "it's flashed". It's not flashed, it's a water slide.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration used a cheap acrylic paint that's now chalky and comes off on your hand. The white patio furniture is now stained from roof run-off. They said "it's normal chalking". It's paint failure.
Rodneyplace,The roofer replaced the box gutter with a narrower profile, now in heavy rain it overflows. He said "it matches the old size". It's visibly smaller. Now I need it replaced again.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumbing for the air conditioner overflow was never connected, just draining onto the ceiling plaster. Found out when the ceiling caved in. They said "the AC installer should do it". Not when you quote for it.
Rodneyplace,The ridge pointing has cracked so badly the ridge tile moved 50mm. Visible from the ground. They said "it's just a cosmetic crack". It's a structural fail.
Rodneyplace,The roof replacement was done without a safety rail. A piece of timber slid off, smashed the glass table below. They said "something fell from the tree". It was a roofing batten.
Rodneyplace,The roofer installed the new metal roof but didn't seal the laps at the low pitch end. Water blows up the lap and leaks. They said "it's not a watertight roof". Then what is it?
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration company did a "free roof inspection" and then damaged tiles to show me needing work. I had a hidden camera. They cracked tiles deliberately. Criminal.
Rodneyplace,The new skylight was positioned right above the bed. Woken at dawn every day. They said "it's where the plan showed". The plan I never approved.
Rodneyplace,The roofer replaced the fascia but didn't paint the cut ends. Water ingress, ends are swelling and rotting already. They said "painter does that". But you quoted for fascia replacement including painting.
Rodneyplace,The gutter was installed with the bracket screws piercing the roof sheet edge. Water runs down the screw threads into the eaves. They said "it's how gutters are fixed". Now I have rot.
Rodneyplace,The roof tilers walked on the ridge and dislodged the bedding completely. Now the ridge rocks. They said "it was like that". The roof was perfect before they arrived.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration paint was thinned with water to make it go further. Coverage is patchy and see-through. They charged for full strength material. I had the leftover paint tested.
Rodneyplace,The roofer installed the new downpipe directly in front of the window, blocking the view. I specifically said to offset it. They said "it was easier to run straight". Not your design call.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber didn't install an overflow on the box gutter. It filled with leaves and water poured into the roof. They said "overflows are only needed on commercial". Residential requires it too.
Rodneyplace,The replacement roof was installed without removing the old sarking, just layered over it. The old sarking was torn and full of dust. Now it's double trouble, trapping moisture. They said it's "extra protection". It's a moisture sandwich.
Rodneyplace,The roofer re-pointed the verge with the wrong colour mortar. It's a white stripe on a terracotta roof. They said "mortar only comes in grey". They could have tinted it.
Rodneyplace,The new roof sheeting has waves because the battens weren't leveled. It's a rollercoaster. They said "the old roof structure is uneven". Then they should have packed it level.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration company accidentally sprayed the driveway with sealer. Now it's a slippery mess and stained. They said "it'll wear off". It's been a year and it's a hazard.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber cut the downpipe too short, so water splashes onto the ground and undermines the path. They said "just add a spreader". That's your job.
Rodneyplace,They fixed one leak and caused another by stepping through the ceiling while in the roof cavity. A foot-sized hole in the plaster. They said "the joists were too far apart". You should have used a board.
Rodneyplace,The replacement roof was installed with the wrong screw type for the coastal environment. They're already rusting after six months. They said "we use the same screws everywhere". Should use stainless near the sea.
Rodneyplace,The roofer left the old guttering on the nature strip, council fined me. They said "you requested disposal". Yes, disposal in a skip, not illegal dumping.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumbing leaked at the rain head joint because they didn't solder it properly, just a dry joint. The whole connection blew apart in a storm. They said "it was under pressure". It's gravity fed.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration included "rust treatment". They just painted over the rust without converting it. The rust is bubbling through the new paint. They said "it's rust bleeding". It's rust not treated.
Rodneyplace,The new box gutter was fabricated on site from flat sheet, the seams aren't watertight. Leaks at every corner. They said "all box gutters leak a bit". No, they don't.
Rodneyplace,The roofer installed a new skylight but cracked the glass panel during installation and blamed the delivery. They refuse to replace it, said I must have cracked it later. Photos show it cracked before they left.
Rodneyplace,The metal roofing screws were driven in at an angle, stripping the battens. Half the screws don't bite. The roof lifts in the wind. They said "the timber was too hard". It's standard pine.
Rodneyplace,The roof tilers didn't install the anti-ponding boards at the eaves, so the bottom course of tiles droops. Water doesn't shed properly. They said "it's not required". It is for that profile.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber installed the new spouting with the internal brackets creating a dam effect. Water sits between brackets and rusts through. He said "that's the only bracket type". No, there are external brackets.
Rodneyplace,The roof repaint has already blistered because they didn't let the cleaner dry before painting. Moisture trapped under the coating. They said "it's outgassing". It's moisture blistering from poor prep.
Rodneyplace,The new fascia cover was installed with joins not backed by timber. The joints open up with heat. Gaps you can see through. They said "metal expands". That's why you back the joints.
Rodneyplace,The roofer removed the old air conditioner roof penetration but left the hole open. Birds moved in. They said "I thought the AC guy would cap it". You removed it, you seal it.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber installed the downpipe with the shoe facing the wall, so water splashes back and soaks the brickwork. They said "it's standard orientation". It's wrong.
Rodneyplace,The new roof has condensation dripping from the sarking joints because they didn't lap the sarking properly. The insulation is soaked. They said "it's a ventilation issue". It's a sarking installation issue.
Rodneyplace,The roofer quoted for colourbond but installed a different brand that doesn't match the existing shed. They said "it's equivalent". Equivalent in function, not appearance.
Rodneyplace,The ridge capping was re-bedded but they used the old broken pieces, not new caps. You can see the cracks. They said "they're still intact". They're visibly broken.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration crew left the gutter full of paint chips and debris. The gutter overflowed and flooded the patio. They said "we don't do gutter cleaning". You caused the blockage.
Rodneyplace,The roofer installed the new tile roof but didn't replace the old valley irons. They're rusted and will fail soon. He said "they've got years left". They're paper thin.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber fitted a new downpipe but it's the wrong size, water backs up and overflows the gutter. He said "it's what I had on the truck". Now I have a waterfall at the corner.
Rodneyplace,The roof sheeting was installed with no fall, almost flat. Water just sits in ponds. They said "the plans didn't specify pitch". Common sense does.
Rodneyplace,The replacement whirlybird was installed without sealing the base to the ridge. Water runs down the roof and under the flange, leaks into the roof. They said "it's the whirlybird design". No, you didn't seal it.
Rodneyplace,The roofer left a knife on the roof, it slid off and landed blade-down in the lawn. My child could have been killed. They said "oh, we were looking for that". No safety awareness.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration coating is so thin you can see the old tile colour underneath, especially on the edges. They said "it's a tinted sealer". I paid for a full coating.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber used PVC stormwater pipe exposed to sun, it's already brittle and cracked. They said "it's all we use". Should be UV-resistant or painted.
Rodneyplace,The new metal roof was installed with the top sheet not overlapping the bottom sheet enough. Water blows uphill and leaks. They said "it meets the minimum lap". For a low pitch, minimum isn't enough.
Rodneyplace,The roof tilers pointed the verge but left mortar snots all over the tile faces. It looks like a plasterer's radio. They said "rain will wash it off". It's set hard.
Rodneyplace,The roof replacement included "removal of old roof". They removed the tiles but left the old sarking and battens, which were rotten. New roof over old rot. They said "the battens were fine". They crumbled to touch.
Rodneyplace,The roofer inspected the leak and said it was a cracked tile, replaced it. Leak continued. Another roofer found it was the flashing all along. They misdiagnosed and I paid for unnecessary work.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration sprayed the sealer onto the solar panels, reducing their output. They said "the rain will clean it". It didn't, it baked on.
Rodneyplace,The roofer installed a new gutter with the high point at the downpipe, so water sits at the far end. They said "the bracket adjustment is maxed out". Then re-pitch the gutter.
Rodneyplace,The re-roofing crew used the existing battens without checking spacing, which is wrong for the new tile profile. Tiles don't sit flat. They said "it's close enough". It's a wavy mess.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber installed the box gutter sump with the screws piercing the bottom, so it leaks from day one. They said "screws are sealed". Not with no silicone they aren't.
Rodneyplace,The ridge capping was pointed with a high lime mix that's already eroded, exposing the bedding. They said "it's a breathable mix". It's a washable mix.
Rodneyplace,The roofer took the deposit for a new roof, started demolition, then demanded more money because "the frame is rotten". I got an independent inspection, frame is fine. Holding my job to ransom.
Rodneyplace,The flashing at the chimney wasn't turned into the brickwork, just surface sealed. Water behind the flashing is freezing and pushing it off. They said "the mortar is too hard to cut". Then don't take the job.
Rodneyplace,The roof replacement was done without scaffolding, they used ladders and damaged the guttering leaning on it. Gutters are now bent. They said "it's unavoidable". It's avoidable with proper access.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration was done on a windy day, overspray all over the neighbour's washing line and clothes. They denied it. The neighbour is suing me.
Rodneyplace,The new roof has no sarking at all, just sheets screwed to battens. The roof space is full of dust and drafts. They said "sarking is extra". It was in the contract.
Rodneyplace,The roofer replaced the valley with a narrower gauge, now leaves build up faster and water overflows. They said "it's standard gauge". Not for my area's rainfall.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumbing for the new solar hot water was done with flexible hoses that kinked. No hot water flow. They said "it's the plumber's problem". You did the plumbing.
Rodneyplace,The roof inspection report said the roof was sound. Six months later, the roof leaked and the ceiling collapsed. The inspector missed a rusted-through sheet. Negligent.
Rodneyplace,The replacement roof was installed with sheets cut too short at the ridge, so the ridge cap doesn't cover the gap. Birds and weather get in. They said "ridge cap will cover it". It doesn't.
Rodneyplace,The roofer left a gap between the fascia and the gutter, so water runs down the fascia board. It's rotting. They said "it's a ventilation gap". Not one inch wide.
Rodneyplace,The roof tilers left the hip tiles loose. One slid off and smashed on the driveway. They said "it must have been wind". The wind was 20km/h.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber installed the new downpipe with a sharp 90 degree bend at the bottom, clogged within a week. They said "it's standard". Standard blockage.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration sealant was applied so thick it's cracking and peeling in sheets. They said "it's extra protection". It's extra failure.
Rodneyplace,The re-roofing crew left the old roof on the verge, council issued a fine. They said "you're responsible for waste removal". No, you quoted for removal.
Rodneyplace,The new ridge capping is a different profile, so it rocks on the ridge. Water blows underneath. They said "it's the closest match". It doesn't match, it moves.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber fitted the new gutter with the leaf guard mesh pressed down into the gutter, so water can't flow under it. They said "mesh goes inside". It should be on top.
Rodneyplace,The roof replacement was done with the wrong colour screws. Bright silver on a dark monument roof. They said "it's all we had". Now it's a polka dot.
Rodneyplace,The roofer didn't install the anti-condensation blanket on the new shed, now everything inside is dripping wet every morning. They said "sheds don't need it". I'm storing furniture.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration crew walked on the patio roof and cracked the polycarbonate sheets. They said "it was old and brittle". It was two years old.
Rodneyplace,The flashing at the dormer window wasn't lapped correctly, water runs behind and down the internal wall. Paint is bubbling. They said "it's a design flaw". It's an installation flaw.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumbing for the evaporative cooler was never connected to a drain, so water just pours onto the roof sheeting and into the eaves. They said "it's supposed to overflow". Not that much.
Rodneyplace,The roof tilers didn't mix the mortar correctly, it's sandy and weak. The ridge is crumbling. They said "it's a lime mortar, it's soft". It shouldn't disintegrate in your hand.
Rodneyplace,The roofer pressure cleaned the roof but didn't cover the downpipe opening, all debris washed into the stormwater system, causing a blockage. They said "the pipe must have been blocked already". It wasn't.
Rodneyplace,The replacement roof was installed with the old roof still underneath, doubling the weight. The rafters are sagging. They said "it's easier". It's dangerous.
Rodneyplace,The new metal roof has sharp edges at the gable end that weren't folded under. A guillotine waiting to slice someone. They said "it's safe, nobody goes up there". Trades do.
Rodneyplace,The new metal roof has sharp edges at the gable end that weren't folded under. A guillotine waiting to slice someone. They said "it's safe, nobody goes up there". Trades do.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber used a saddle to connect a new downpipe, piercing the old downpipe and causing a leak into the wall. They said "it's standard connection". Now I have a rotting wall.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration crew left the sealer spray on my car. The paint is etched. They said "it'll polish out". It won't, it needs a respray.
Rodneyplace,The roofer replaced the fascia but left the old rotten timber underneath, just covered it. The rot is spreading to the new fascia. They said "we don't remove old timber". Then don't call it a replacement.
Rodneyplace,The roof inspection was done by drone and they said the roof was perfect. I climbed up and found a tennis ball sized hole. The drone video missed it because it was too high. Useless.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber didn't connect the overflow from the water tank back to the downpipe, so it just floods the garden bed. They said "it's an overflow, it overflows". It should be plumbed.
Rodneyplace,The replacement roof was installed with the wrong profile at the gable, the barge board doesn't cover the end of the sheets. Water gets in. They said "the carpenter will flash it". You are the roofer.
Rodneyplace,The new roof sheeting was walked on and dented, they said "it's trafficable". Not with work boots it isn't. Now it looks like a moon surface.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration paint was applied in the rain, washed off in streaks down the walls. They said "it's water-based, it'll dry". It washed off.
Rodneyplace,The roofer installed the new chimney flashing but sealed it with putty that's already hard and cracking. They said "it's high temp sealant". It's plumber's putty.
Rodneyplace,The ridge capping was pointed without cleaning the old surface, new mortar fell off in chunks. They said "it didn't bond". Because you didn't prep.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber installed the new sump on the box gutter but cut the hole too big. Gaps around the sump, sealed with mastic that's already leaking. They said "it's watertight". It's not.
Rodneyplace,The re-roofing crew left the site with a roll of sarking still on the roof, it blew off and wrapped around the power lines. Power outage. They said "it was a spare roll". Not anymore.
Rodneyplace,The new roof was installed with no cyclone washers, screws are pulling through the sheet. They said "it's standard fixing". In a cyclone zone, it's non-compliant.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration involved spraying over the old chalking paint without cleaning. Now the new coating is peeling off with the old. They said "it's the old paint's fault". It's poor prep.
Rodneyplace,The roofer took the lead flashing from the old roof and didn't replace it, said "lead is too expensive". The quote included new flashings. Theft.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumbing for the new kitchen vent was terminated into the roof space, not outside. Greasy air is now coating the insulation. They said "I thought it was an eave vent". You installed it.
Rodneyplace,The roof tilers set up the mixer on the lawn and left a huge cement slurry patch. Grass is dead, concrete is now a permanent feature. They said "it'll break down". Cement doesn't break down.
Rodneyplace,The new metal roof was installed with the sheet ends not reaching the gutter, water drops behind and soaks the fascia. They said "it's the guttering that's too low". You installed both.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration company left the old pointing debris in the gutter. It set like concrete and blocked the downpipe. They said "we don't do clean up". The quote includes "clean site upon completion".
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber fitted a new rainwater tank inlet with a non-compliant mosquito mesh. Tank is now breeding mosquitoes. They said "it's a standard mesh". Council says it's too large a gauge.
Rodneyplace,The replacement roof colour is completely different to the sample. Bright red instead of deep maroon. They said "it's the same colour name". Different brand, different colour.
Rodneyplace,The roofer didn't install the anti-ponding strip at the gutter line, water sits behind the gutter and rusts the edge of the sheet. They said "it's not required". It's on the manufacturer's instructions.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration crew used a water blaster on the tile roof, water went through the overlaps and soaked the ceiling below. They said "it's unavoidable". It's avoidable with low pressure.
Rodneyplace,The new guttering was installed with a fall towards the corner, but the downpipe is in the middle. So water has to go uphill. They said "the corner looked better". It doesn't work.
Rodneyplace,The new roof sheeting was cut with a grinder on the lawn, swarf rusted and killed the grass. They said "it's iron, good for the soil". No, it's toxic and ugly.
Rodneyplace,The roofer replaced the ridge cap but used a dry ridge system without the correct clips. The caps lifted in the first strong wind. They said "it's a ventilation system". It's a flying ridge system.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration paint was sprayed on the brickwork, a permanent dark stain. They said "it'll weather". It's paint, it doesn't weather off.
Rodneyplace,The roofer inspected the leak, said it was fixed. The leak was worse. He'd pushed the cracked tile up, water now flowed directly into the hole. They said "it was an attempted fix". Attempted robbery.
Rodneyplace,The metal roof was installed without insulation, the house is an oven. They said "insulation is extra". It was in the contract. They just hoped I wouldn't notice.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber fitted a new overflow pipe that discharges onto the neighbour's property, causing a dispute. They said "it's the only way to run it". Not without a proper drain.
Rodneyplace,The roofer's scaffolding was erected on my garden bed, crushed all the shrubs. They said "plants will grow back". Not from a smashed root ball.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration coating has already faded to a chalky mess. They said "it's a matte finish". No, it's UV degradation.
Rodneyplace,The re-roofing crew left the old roof tiles stacked against the house wall, blocking the weep holes. Rising damp now. They said "the tiles aren't that heavy". The moisture is.
Rodneyplace,The new flashing at the wall was installed without a cover flashing, water tracks down the brick and into the window below. They said "it's a single flashing detail". It's wrong.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber installed the new sump with the grate not removable. Debris builds up and blocks it. They said "it's a fixed grate". Needs to be accessible.
Rodneyplace,The roof replacement was done in sections, with a massive colour difference between old and new sheets. They said "it's the same colour". Different batch, obvious.
Rodneyplace,The roofer quoted for insulation blanket under the metal roof, but just used thin foil. I climbed up and checked, it's single-sided foil. They said "it's the same R-value". It's not.
Rodneyplace,The roof tilers left the mortar droppings inside the tile cavity, bridging the sarking and causing damp spots on the ceiling. They said "the sarking will protect it". It won't when pierced.
Rodneyplace,The new roof was installed without any expansion joints in the ridge. On hot days it creaks and groans like a ship. They said "it's normal". It's thermal stress.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber installed a new downpipe that directs water straight onto the air conditioner unit. Now it shorts out. They said "the AC shouldn't be there". It was there first.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration crew left the gutters full of old paint and mortar. First rain, gutters overflow and flood the patio. They said "we don't do gutters". It's in the scope.
Rodneyplace,The roofer removed the skylight to "reseal" it and dropped it, smashing the glass. They said "it was already cracked". I have a photo from that morning.
Rodneyplace,The new colourbond roof has oil canning so severe it looks like a stormy sea. They said "it's the sheet length". It's poor installation without expansion allowance.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration paint was thinned and sprayed, it's see-through on the edges. They said "it's a mist coat". A mist coat is not a finish.
Rodneyplace,The re-roofing crew used a nail gun to fix the sarking, thousands of holes. Water vapour comes through every one. They said "nails are standard". Clouts are, not gun nails.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber fitted the new downpipe with the shoe pointing straight at the wall. Water splashes back and rots the weatherboard. They said "it's a directional shoe". It's directing water into my house.
Rodneyplace,The roof tilers left the hip tiles without pointing, raw. Water blows in. They said "pointing is next visit". They never came back.
Rodneyplace,The new roof has no sarking because they "forgot". The ceiling is now black with dust and soot from the roof space. They said "sarking isn't mandatory". In my contract it was.
Rodneyplace,The roofer used the wrong profile ridge cap, gaps at the end where birds enter. They said "it's a universal ridge". Not for that profile.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumbing for the new bathroom fan was vented into the eave, not through the roof. Moist air is rotting the eave lining. They said "it's a soffit vent". It's a bathroom fan, needs a roof vent.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration was done without removing the old lichen. Now the lichen is growing through the new paint. They said "the paint has biocide". It didn't kill what was already there.
Rodneyplace,The new metal roof was installed with the end of the sheet not turned down, a sharp edge that will cut anyone cleaning the gutter. They said "it's standard". It's dangerous.
Rodneyplace,The roofer left a roll of flashing on the roof, it slid off and hit the car. Dent and paint damage. They said "it was a gust of wind". It wasn't secured.
Rodneyplace,The roof tilers mixed the mortar on the lawn without a board, leaving a huge dead patch and mortar mixed into the soil. They said "it's just sand and cement". It's poisoned the soil.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber installed the box gutter with no fall towards the sump, water sits and breeds mosquitoes. They said "it's a dead level gutter". That's a pond.
Rodneyplace,The roof restoration sealer was sprayed on the brickwork, the house now has a two-tone wall. They said "it'll blend over time". It hasn't in two years.
Rodneyplace,The new roof was installed with the wrong colorbond colour. The sample was Windspray, the roof is Shale Grey. They said "it's a batch variation". It's a different colour name.
Rodneyplace,The roof plumber fitted the new downpipe directly over the water meter, you can't read it. They said "it's the straightest line". Not when the meter box is there.
Rodneyplace,The roof replacement was done with the wrong roof pitch, water doesn't shed properly. They said "it matches existing". The existing was the problem, that's why I replaced it.
Rodneyplace,The new skylight leaks because the flashing doesn't sit flat on the tile profile. They said "it's a universal flashing". You can't use a flat flashing on a curved tile.
Rodneyplace,The roofer took the deposit and never started. Phone disconnected. Used a fake ABN. Police say it's a civil matter. I'm out $8k.
Rodneyplace,Window tinting was bubbled and full of dust specks under the film. The edges don't even reach the glass properly on the rear window. They told me "bubbles will dry out in a few days" but it's been months and they're still there. Dodgy installation.
Rodneyplace,Headlight restoration lasted exactly two weeks before going yellow again. They just polished the surface with some cheap compound and didn't apply a UV clear coat. Now they're more fogged than before and I'm up for a proper restoration elsewhere.
Rodneyplace,Took my car for a "premium pre-sale detail" to get top dollar. They didn't clean the door jambs, boot hinges were still greasy, and there was a coffee stain on the driver's seat that would have taken two seconds to spot. Lost a buyer because it looked half-finished.
Rodneyplace,Interior shampoo was an absolute disaster. Seats came back wetter than when they arrived, soap residue left in the fabric making it stiff and crunchy, and a damp smell that won't go away. They used a domestic Bunnings carpet cleaner instead of a proper hot water extractor.
Rodneyplace,Paid for a ceramic coating package that cost nearly two grand. The coating is streaky with high spots everywhere, and they didn't do any paint correction beforehand. Now my dark blue paint looks worse than before and the coating is failing after three months. Refusing to honour warranty.
Rodneyplace,Engine bay detail involved spraying degreaser everywhere and hosing it off with a pressure washer. Car started misfiring on the way home. Mechanic found water in the spark plug wells and a soaked air filter. They deny everything of course.
Rodneyplace,Car came back with deep scratches on the roof where they'd dragged a dirty wash mitt across it. You can tell they dropped the mitt, picked it up, and kept going. They claimed the scratches were "already there" but I have time-stamped pre-inspection photos proving otherwise.
Rodneyplace,The clay bar treatment they charged extra for was never done. I watched them the whole time and they just used a spray wax and microfibre. When I confronted them, they said "modern clay is liquid" which is an outright lie. Just a quick detailer spray they passed off as claying.
Rodneyplace,Car was returned with compound residue crusted in every crevice and panel gap. Door handles, window trims, even the fuel filler cap were full of white dried gunk. They clearly couldn't be bothered wiping it down properly and now it's set like concrete.
Rodneyplace,Booked a weekend special that was advertised as three hours. Dropped off at 9am, by 5pm it still wasn't ready and they wanted to keep it overnight. I insisted on taking it and the job was clearly rushed. Wax wasn't even buffed off the bonnet properly
Rodneyplace,They used a silicone-based tyre shine that slung all over the paintwork. Greasy spots everywhere. When I asked them to clean it off, they said it's a "feature". The paint now has oily streaks that are hard to remove.
Rodneyplace,Interior shampoo was a joke. Seats came back wetter than when they started, soap residue left in the fabric, and a damp smell that won't go away. They used a domestic Bissell instead of a proper extractor.
Rodneyplace,Mobile detailer arrived two hours late, spent 40 minutes on my dual-cab, and called it done. Didn't even vacuum the carpet mats. Water spots on every window. Said "it's a work ute, mate, not a show car". Unacceptable.
Rodneyplace,Booked a full inside-out detail for my ute. They returned it with mud still in the wheel arches and dog hair on the back seat. The console hadn't been touched. $400 for a basic wash. Complained and they blocked my number.
Rodneyplace,Car came back smelling like a chemical factory because they used the strongest, cheapest air freshener to mask the fact they didn't actually clean properly. Under the seats were still full of crumbs and old lolly wrappers. Sprayed fragrance and hoped I wouldn't notice.
Rodneyplace,They used a pressure washer at point-blank range on my front bumper and peeled the clear protective film clean off. The film was professionally installed and perfectly intact. They denied it completely, saying it "must have been lifting already".
Rodneyplace,The headlight restoration they did lasted two weeks. They just polished them with toothpaste and didn't apply a UV clear coat. Now they're more yellow and hazed than before. Waste of money.
Rodneyplace,The "full paint correction" was just a glaze that filled the swirls for a week. Now they're back with a vengeance. They charged for a multi-stage correction and did a hand glaze. Scam.
Rodneyplace,Car came back smelling like cheap air freshener to mask the fact they didn't actually clean it. Under the seats were still full of crumbs. They just sprayed fragrance and hoped I wouldn't notice.
Rodneyplace,They used a pressure washer at point-blank range and peeled the clear bra off the front bumper. Denied it, said "the film was lifting already". It was perfectly intact.
Rodneyplace,The wheel cleaning was so aggressive they stripped the clear coat off my alloys. Now they're pitted and corroding. They said "the wheels were already damaged". They were mint.
Rodneyplace,Booked a weekend detail special. They said my small hatchback would take 3 hours. Eight hours later, still not done, and they wanted to keep it overnight. I refused, the job was rushed and substandard.
Rodneyplace,The detail shop lost my car key and tried to blame me. I had to wait four hours while they "found" it. Turns out it was in their office drawer. No apology, just attitude.
Rodneyplace,I paid extra for a leather treatment. They used armour-all wipes that left a greasy film, and now the leather is cracking. That stuff is terrible for leather. They have no idea about proper leather care.
Rodneyplace,The detailer left compound residue in every crevice, panel gaps full of white gunk. Didn't even wipe it off. The car looked worse than when I dropped it off. Said "it'll wash out". It set like cement.
Rodneyplace,The "clay bar treatment" was just a spray wax. They didn't clay the car at all, I watched them. When I questioned, they said "modern clay is liquid". No, that's a quick detailer. Lied to my face.
Rodneyplace,Mobile detailer used my garden hose and driveway, leaving mud and soap scum all over the concrete. He didn't clean up, just packed and left. My driveway was cleaner before he arrived.
Rodneyplace,Car came back with deep scratches on the roof from a dirty wash mitt. They clearly dropped it and continued using it. They said the scratches were "already there". I have pre-inspection photos.
Rodneyplace,Booked a full detail, they did an exterior wash only. Said the interior was "too hard" because of dog hair, but they'd already charged me the full amount. Refused a partial refund.
Rodneyplace,The window cleaning left massive streaks. Every window has a film that makes it impossible to see when the sun hits. They used the same dirty towel for the whole car.
Rodneyplace,The detailer used a cutting compound on my single-stage paint and burned through to the primer on the edges. Now I need a respray. They said "the paint was thin". That's why you use a paint gauge.
Rodneyplace,Paint protection film installation was a disaster. Edges lifting, dirt trapped underneath, cut marks on the paint from the knife. They said "it'll settle". It's been two months and looks terrible.
Rodneyplace,The car was returned with a cracked side mirror. They denied it, said "it was already cracked". My pre-inspection photos show it intact. They're refusing to pay for repair.
Rodneyplace,They used a steam cleaner on my alcantara seats and burned the fabric. The nap is now flat and shiny in patches. They said "it's supposed to look like that". It's ruined.
Rodneyplace,The detailer scratched the piano black trim with a dirty microfiber. It's all swirled up now. They said "piano black scratches if you look at it". Yes, if you use dirty cloths.
Rodneyplace,They washed my convertible and didn't properly close the roof, water got inside. Seats were soaked. They said "it must have leaked". It doesn't leak when the roof is latched properly.
Rodneyplace,Booked a "same-day detail". Car wasn't ready until the next day, and then it was filthy from sitting in their dusty workshop overnight. They didn't even re-rinse it.
Rodneyplace,The detailer was supposed to remove pet hair. They didn't even try. Hair still embedded in the carpet. They said "that's a specialist service". It was part of the package I paid for.
Rodneyplace,The dash and console were wiped with something that left a sticky residue. Attracts dust like a magnet. They used cheap dash spray. I had to re-clean it myself.
Rodneyplace,The detailer used an acid-based wheel cleaner that stained my calipers. Now they're a weird yellow colour. They said "it's just a cleaner, it'll wash off". It's etched into the paint.
Rodneyplace,The mobile van leaked oil on my driveway and they didn't tell me. Now I have a huge stain. They said "it's not our van". It's the only van that was there.
Rodneyplace,Booked a pre-sale detail. They dressed the tyres but didn't clean the wheel barrels. The rims were still black with brake dust. They said "barrels aren't visible". Buyers look.
Rodneyplace,The detailer had my car for two days for a ceramic coating. When I picked it up, the coating was already water-spotted because they let it get wet before curing. They said "it's fine, just dry it". It's etched in.
Rodneyplace,The interior clean missed the entire cargo area. I have a wagon, the back was still full of sand and dog hair. They said "wagon backs are extra". It was listed in the package.
Rodneyplace,I asked for a waterless wash on my classic car. They used a bucket of soapy water and a sponge that had been on the ground. Scratches everywhere. They said "waterless doesn't work on real dirt". Then say that before.
Rodneyplace,The mobile detailer's generator leaked fuel on my driveway. Stains everywhere. He said "it's a small leak". It's a big stain.
Rodneyplace,They used an air freshener so strong my eyes watered. I asked for unscented. They said "customers like the new car smell". Not when it's chemical warfare.
Rodneyplace,The detail shop returned my car with different floor mats. Mine were premium rubber, I got cheap carpet ones. They deny swapping them. I have photos. Theft.
Rodneyplace,The "clay and wax" special was done in 45 minutes. You can't clay a whole car properly in that time. They just smeared a quick detailer and called it clayed.
Rodneyplace,The detailer used a cutting pad on my headlights without masking the surrounding paint. Now the paint edges are burned. They said "it's just clear coat". That's my paint.
Rodneyplace,The boot release was jammed after the detail because they got polish in the mechanism. Had to take it apart to clean. They said "not our problem".
Rodneyplace,They used a silicone spray on the dashboard that reflected so badly I couldn't see through the windscreen. Dangerous glare. They said "it's premium shine". It's a hazard.
Rodneyplace,The detailer left the car unlocked with the keys on the seat. When I came to pick it up, anyone could have taken it. They said "this is a safe area". Not the point.
Rodneyplace,They used a rotary buffer on my plastic bumpers and burned the textured finish. Now there are shiny smooth patches. They said "it'll fade back". It won't, it's melted.
Rodneyplace,The interior "detail" was just a vacuum and a wipe with a damp rag. Cup holders still sticky, vents still dusty. They said "that's the basic package". The package was called "Premium Interior".
Rodneyplace,The detailer parked my car under a tree after detailing, and it was covered in sap and bird droppings by pick-up. They said "we don't control nature". You could have parked it inside.
Rodneyplace,They used a pressure washer on the radiator and bent the fins. Now the car runs hot. They said "it's just cosmetic". Bent fins reduce airflow.
Rodneyplace,The detailer broke the bonnet release lever. They said "it was already broken". It worked perfectly when I dropped it off. Now I have to pop the bonnet with pliers.
Rodneyplace,The paint correction removed the orange peel but left deep pigtails from the sanding discs. They didn't refine properly. Now the car needs a full re-sand by a pro.
Rodneyplace,The car was returned with the windows smeared so badly I couldn't see out at night. They used a dirty cloth on the inside glass. It's a safety hazard.
Rodneyplace,The mobile detailer used my electricity and water without asking, then left the hose running. My water bill will be huge. He just shrugged.
Rodneyplace,The ceramic coating was applied over water spots without removing them. Now the spots are permanently sealed under the coating. They said "the coating magnifies imperfections". You should have prepped.
Rodneyplace,They used an extractor on my carpets but didn't dry them properly. Now the car smells like a swamp. Mould is growing under the mats. They said "just leave the windows down". It's winter.
Rodneyplace,The car came back with a huge scratch on the rear bumper from their pressure washer wand. They said "it was already there". I have dashcam footage of them doing it.
Rodneyplace,The car wash they used is a hand wash place, but they use brooms on the paint. Swirls galore. They said "it's a soft broom". No broom is soft on clear coat.
Rodneyplace,Booked a mobile detail for 8am. Text at 7:50 said he was sick. Rescheduled for next week, same thing. Third time, he just ghosted. I'd already paid a deposit.
Rodneyplace,The paint correction was done in direct sun, so the compound dried out and dusted everywhere. Now there's compound dust inside the car. They said "it'll blow out". It's in the air vents.
Rodneyplace,The detailer polished over a bird dropping and etched it into the clear coat. Now it's a permanent mark. They said "the dropping was too acidic". You should have removed it before polishing.
Rodneyplace,The "full interior detail" didn't include the headliner. Still had a handprint from my kid. They said "headliners are delicate, we don't touch them". Then say so in the package.
Rodneyplace,The detailer used a wax with no UV protection on my red car. Now the paint is fading and going pink. They said "red fades no matter what". Not if you use proper LSP.
Rodneyplace,Booked a mini detail for my motorbike. They used car products on the bike, left wax on the grips and seat. Nearly slipped off. They said "it's the same paint". It's not the same safety.
Rodneyplace,They offered a "show car finish". My car came back with wax in the panel gaps and polish splatter on the window rubbers. It looked like a five-year-old did it.
Rodneyplace,The detailer left a dirty rag under the bonnet. I found it melted onto the exhaust manifold. Lucky it didn't catch fire. They said "sorry, forgot". That's a fire hazard.
Rodneyplace,They used a magic eraser on my leather seats, removing the topcoat. Now the dye is transferring onto my clothes. They said "it's the only way to clean". No, it's destructive.
Rodneyplace,The detailer left the windows down a crack and the interior got rained on. Seats were damp and smelly. They said "it wasn't forecast". You still close windows after cleaning.
Rodneyplace,They offered a "free courtesy wash" with my service. Now the car has buffer trails all over the boot lid. They let the apprentice practice with a rotary.
Rodneyplace,Car came back with a strong chemical smell that gave me a headache. They used a solvent-based interior cleaner and didn't air it out. Took weeks to dissipate.
Rodneyplace,The paint correction left pigtails from the sanding discs. They didn't finish polishing. Now it needs a full wet sand by a pro.
Rodneyplace,The detailer used a dirty wash mitt on the bonnet, now it looks like a spiderweb in the sun. Car is three months old.
Rodneyplace,The detail shop left the car unlocked with the keys on the dash. In a public car park. Anyone could have taken it.
Rodneyplace,The detailer used a pressure washer on the soft-top and forced water through the seams. Now it leaks.
Rodneyplace,The "paint protection" they applied is just a spray wax that's gone after one rain. They charged $300 for a $10 product.
Rodneyplace,The car was returned with a different gear knob. Mine was a leather one, now it's a cheap plastic one. They deny swapping.
Rodneyplace,The interior clean left a slimy feel on the steering wheel. I almost lost grip. They used a greasy protectant.
Rodneyplace,The detailer used a grinder to polish my wheels and hit the spoke, leaving a deep cut. They said "it was an accident". Still damage.
Rodneyplace,The mobile detailer cancelled an hour before and said his wife went into labour. Next week, same excuse. How many babies?
Rodneyplace,The car wash brushed the antenna and snapped it. They said "it was loose". Now I have no radio.
Rodneyplace,The detailer used a chemical that stripped the anodising off my roof rails. Now they're blotchy. They said "we use the same on all cars". Not all cars are the same.
Rodneyplace,The mobile detailer used my garden tap and left it running, flooded my garden bed. Water everywhere. He just left.
Rodneyplace,The paint correction burned through the clear coat on the roof rails. Now they're matte and the clear is gone. They said "the clear was thin". You should measure.
Rodneyplace,The detailer used a dirty mitt on my brand new car and swirled the paint. Now it's worse than before. They said "all new cars have swirls". Not like this.
Rodneyplace,The interior clean used a product that left a white film on the wood trim. It's hazy. They said "that's the natural finish". No, that's chemical residue.
Rodneyplace,The detailer left his tools in my boot. Screwdriver and a spray bottle. He said "I'll come get them". That was a month ago.
Rodneyplace,The detailer used a stiff brush on my soft paint and left thousands of tiny scratches. It looks like a cat scratched it.
Rodneyplace,The headlight restoration they did lasted three weeks before the UV coating peeled. They said "you must have used chemicals on it". I only wash with water.
Rodneyplace,The "full detail" left the spare tyre well dirty. I only found out when I got a flat. Now my spare is covered in old dirt.
Rodneyplace,The detailer used a dirty microfiber on the instrument cluster, now it's swirled. I have to stare at scratches every day.
Rodneyplace,The car was returned with the seatbelt twisted and jammed. They didn't even check. I had to untwist it.
Rodneyplace,The paint protection film is lifting on the mirror caps. They said "it's a tricky area". That's why I paid a professional.
Rodneyplace,The detailer used a brush on my fabric seats and pulled the fibres, now they look fuzzy and worn. They said "it's a pile lift". It's damage.
Rodneyplace,The detail shop charged a "SUV surcharge" that wasn't mentioned in the booking. Price was 50% more. They said "all SUVs are extra". Disclose that.
Rodneyplace,The mobile van's generator exhaust was pointing at my house, filled the garage with fumes. They didn't care.
Rodneyplace,The detailer used a pressure washer on the radiator and bent the AC condenser fins. Now the AC is weak. They said "it's just cosmetic". It's functional damage.
Rodneyplace,The "paint correction" was just a glaze. I washed it with a pH-neutral soap and the swirls came right back. They charged for a multi-stage correction.
Rodneyplace,The car was returned with a different number plate frame. Mine was a slimline black, got a chunky chrome one. They said "it must have fallen off". You replaced it with rubbish.
Rodneyplace,The detailer left a half-empty can of drink in my cup holder. Sticky mess. He said "not mine". It wasn't there before.
Rodneyplace,The interior detail missed the rear air vents. Still dusty. They said "we don't do rear vents". It's part of the car.
Rodneyplace,The detailer used a dirty rag on my navigation screen and now it's scratched. Screen is ruined. They said "it's just plastic, it polishes out". No, it's an anti-glare coating.
Rodneyplace,The mobile detailer spilled polish on my driveway pavers. It's stained. He said "it'll weather off". It's been months.
Rodneyplace,The "show finish" detail was a basic wash and vacuum. I could have done better at a coin-op. $350 wasted.
Rodneyplace,The detailer polished the car and left compound in the panel gaps, which has now gone hard and cracked the paint when I opened the doors.
Rodneyplace,The car wash conveyor scratched my rims on the guide rail. Deep gouges. They said "it's the tyre's fault". No, the rail is metal.
Rodneyplace,The paint protection film has a fingerprint trapped under it. They said "it'll disappear". It's been a year, still there.
Rodneyplace,The detailer used a steam cleaner on my alcantara headliner and the glue let go. It's sagging. They said "the glue was old". It was fine.
Rodneyplace,The "full detail" didn't include the door shuts, still muddy. They said "door shuts are a separate line item". Since when?
Rodneyplace,The detailer used a cutting compound on my soft black paint and left it hazy. They didn't finish with a polish. Now it needs a full re-do.
Rodneyplace,The car wash snapped the fuel flap off with the brush. They said "it was flimsy". It was factory and fine. Now it flaps in the wind.
Rodneyplace,The interior clean used so much air freshener it made me nauseous. I asked for fragrance-free. They said "the car needed it". It didn't.
Rodneyplace,The "premium wax" they sold me was just a liquid spray wax. Not a paste wax. They charged premium paste wax price.
Rodneyplace,The car wash left the windows down during the wash. Water inside everywhere. They said "we didn't touch the windows". Obviously you did.
Rodneyplace,The ceramic coating they applied has high spots on every panel. It looks like the car has chickenpox. They said "it's normal". No, it's a failed application.
Rodneyplace,The detailer used a dirty sponge on the glass and left fine scratches. In low sun, it's a spiderweb. They said "glass scratches are normal". No.
Rodneyplace,The mobile detailer didn't show up, said his van broke down. Rescheduled, same excuse. Third time, said he had a family emergency. Just unreliable.
Rodneyplace,The ceramic coating they applied is cracking like dried mud. It was applied too thick and not leveled. They said "it's a textured finish". It's not meant to crack.
Rodneyplace,The detailer left his phone charging in my car, with the ignition on. Battery flat. I had to jump start it with his jumper leads.
Rodneyplace,The headlight restoration they did involved sanding with 80 grit and no finer steps. The lenses are opaque. They said "you need new lights". You ruined them.
Rodneyplace,The car was returned with the seat memory wiped and the radio presets gone. They disconnected the battery for "safety". They didn't tell me.
Rodneyplace,The paint correction left buffer trails and holograms so bad the car looks like a disco ball in the sun. They said "it's the metallic flake popping". No, that's holograms.Claudia Polglase
Rodneyplace,The detailer used a silicone spray on the pedals. My foot slipped off the brake. Dangerously stupid. They said "it makes them look new". Not worth an accident.
Rodneyplace,The "full interior" missed the seat backs. My kids' footprints still there. They said "we only do seating surfaces". The package said "complete interior".
